Stranger Things fans’ next fix is out tomorrow! Here’s why Netflix’s new sci-fi series is a must-see

Netflix’s new series, The Boroughs, arrives this week and is expected to be a great choice for fans looking for something similar to Stranger Things.

The eight-episode sci-fi series, created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews and executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, strongly resembles the popular coming-of-age stories we’ve seen before.

A quiet retirement community in the New Mexico desert is shaken up when strange and frightening events begin to occur. A group of unexpected heroes must join forces to face these threats, uncovering a hidden secret that reveals their peaceful lives are far more dangerous – and they are far more capable – than anyone imagined.

Okay, so the creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer Brothers, are now working on a new show called The Boroughs, and honestly, it sounds right up their alley! It’s about a group of people who have to team up against something really dangerous, which feels very similar to the vibe of Stranger Things. I read on Tudum that the Duffers were huge fans of the writers, Jeff Addiss and Will Matthews, even before they pitched The Boroughs. They said as soon as they heard the idea, they knew it was something amazing and special – and that got me super excited!

I’m so hyped about this new collaboration! The creators said working with the Duffers is a total dream come true, and honestly, I get why! They’re amazing at blending emotional stories with genuinely scary moments, which is exactly what The Boroughs needs. They’re promising a really dark mystery hidden under a seemingly perfect surface, and I, for one, can’t wait to see what they’ve cooked up!

What can viewers expect from this new Netflix series, packed with well-known actors? For starters, it features Alfred Molina, Geena Davis, Alfre Woodard, Bill Pullman, and others playing a group of seniors who are unprepared for a terrifying encounter with monstrous creatures.
