The creators of Stranger Things, the Duffer brothers, have explained why a long-held fan theory about Vecna isn’t true. The theory originated with a mysterious figure Will Byers saw before disappearing into the Upside Down in the show’s very first season.
There’s been a lot of speculation that a certain character is actually Vecna, the villain who wasn’t revealed until season four. However, the creators, the Duffer brothers, have confirmed this isn’t the case in a recent interview with Digital Spy.
Ross pointed out that while Will was biking, he saw a dark figure in the road. Some people think it was Vecna, or that the show creators altered the scene later. But Ross is certain it was the Demogorgon.

When we started with season 1, Vecna didn’t exist yet. We had an idea that a powerful, thinking evil force was behind everything happening in the Upside Down, but Vecna wasn’t created until much later.
Matt acknowledged it would have been great to revisit the project, but emphasized they weren’t making endless changes like George Lucas, who famously revised his Star Wars films multiple times.
Ross insisted they weren’t making any changes, and his brother jokingly said anyone who thought otherwise was imagining things.
Ross jokingly pointed out that while a certain lock can be opened with the mind, the Demogorgons themselves don’t have telepathic abilities. He acknowledged that viewers have already picked up on this detail.
With the fifth season approaching, viewers are buzzing with predictions about the show’s ending, and many are speculating about which characters might not survive.

Fans of Stranger Things can look forward to a new animated series called Tales from ’85. It will follow the main characters on an adventure that takes place between the show’s seasons.
In a recent teaser, the creators of ‘Stranger Things’, the Duffer Brothers, revealed this idea was one of the first they considered when discussing potential future storylines.
The goal was to capture the feel of 1980s cartoons. Because anything is possible with animation, the showrunner, Eric Robles, and his team were given free rein to be creative – and they’ve definitely taken advantage of that opportunity.
The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in three parts. The first part arrives on November 25th, followed by the second on December 25th, and the third on December 31st.
