Fans are eagerly awaiting the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. This next installment of the popular Netflix sci-fi show will continue the story in Hawkins, with episodes that are longer than usual and big developments that will ultimately wrap up the world created by the Duffer Brothers.
Ross Duffer reveals official runtimes of first four episodes of Stranger Things Season 5
Ross Duffer, one of the creators of Stranger Things, announced the lengths of the first four episodes of the show’s fifth and final season. He shared the information in an Instagram post on October 13th, revealing that the episode runtimes are as follows:
- Chapter One: “The Crawl” – 1 hour and 8 minutes
- Chapter Two: “The Vanishing of…” – 54 minutes
- Chapter Three: “The Turnbow Trap” – 1 hour and 6 minutes
- Chapter Four: “Sorcerer” – 1 hour and 23 minutes
He captioned the video “ACTUAL runtimes,” addressing online speculation about the episode lengths.
Okay, so there’s been a lot of buzz about *Stranger Things* Season 5 episodes being extra long – some reports even claimed they’d all be over 90 minutes. But the Duffer Brothers have stepped in to clarify that’s just not true. It looks like that info stemmed from a report in Puck News. What *is* true is that Netflix is rolling out the final season in three volumes. We’ll get the first four episodes on November 26th, then three more on Christmas Day, and finally, the epic conclusion will drop on December 31st. Get ready for a long December, folks!
In August, Duffer shared news about how editing was going, announcing that the first two chapters were completely finished – edited, sound mixed, music added, and color corrected. He said the first episode, “The Crawl,” is the most action-packed premiere since the first season, and that the cold open for Episode 2 is the wildest they’ve ever created.
The concluding season brings back the show’s beloved stars, including Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo. Joining them are Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Maya Hawke.
As a critic, I’m already marking my calendar! “Sorcerer” is going to be the big climax to the first half of this series – it’s the mid-season finale, and it drops on Netflix November 26th, 2025. Consider that a date for fans!
