Stranger Things bosses the Duffer Brothers will return to Netflix with horror series
As a huge fan of the Duffer Brothers and their captivating work on “Stranger Things,” I’m beyond excited about their latest venture into producing a new horror series for Netflix. The announcement that “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” is halfway through production has me on the edge of my seat, anticipating another spine-tingling experience.
The Duffer Brothers have revealed that they’re halfway through filming the fifth season of “Stranger Things” for Netflix. Simultaneously, they’ve begun creating a fresh horror series for the streaming giant.
The team responsible for writing, directing, and production will have control over a freshly announced series created by Haley Z Boston. Her previous writing accomplishments for Netflix include an episode of Guillermo del Toro’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” titled ‘The Outside,’ and the body horror show named “Brand New Cherry Flavor.”
In the intriguing series titled “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen“, I, as an excited fan, find myself drawn into a unique twist on the traditional wedding rom-com genre. Instead of the usual blissful preparations leading up to the big day for our beloved couple, this show takes a surprising turn, leaving us on the edge of our seats, wondering what calamity awaits them (as reported by Deadline).
In the build-up to their tragic wedding week, a chilling horror series titled “Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen” unfolds with a bride and groom at its center. No need for spoilers here – the title itself gives it away.
The Duffer Brothers and Hilary Leavitt, through their production company Upside Down Pictures, have secured an overall deal with Netflix for making this show. They will serve as its producers. Additionally, Andrea Sperling is on board as an executive producer for the project. (Transparent and Murder at the End of the World are some of her previous works.)
“We were knocked flat when we first read Haley’s script,” the Duffer said.
