As a fan who’s been binge-watching Stranger Things since its debut and has a soft spot for sci-fi, I am beyond excited about Netflix’s latest offering – The Boroughs! With an ensemble cast that rivals any blockbuster movie, it’s hard not to get swept up in the anticipation.
Netflix recently announced a stellar lineup for their upcoming series titled “The Boroughs“. This intriguing project is being overseen by the creative minds behind the hit show, “Stranger Things“, namely Matt and Ross Duffer.
In the sci-fi show, the setting is a serene retirement community nestled in the New Mexico desert, which, on the surface, appears idyllic. However, this tranquil facade hides a sinister secret. The story revolves around an unconventional group of protagonists who must team up to thwart a menacing extraterrestrial danger that seeks to seize something they don’t possess: time.
The specific launch date for “The Boroughs” remains undisclosed at this time, but what we do know is that the show’s high-profile cast members have been unveiled by the streaming platform, despite them keeping character details confidential.
In this production, Alfred Molina from Spiderman takes on the role of Sam, Geena Davis, famously known for Thelma and Louise, portrays Renee, and Alfre Woodard, star of Clemency, plays Judy.
Audience members will encounter Denis O’Hare from “American Horror Story” portraying Wally, Clarke Peters of “The Wire” taking on the role of Art, and Bill Pullman known for “Independence Day” playing Jack in this production.
In the upcoming project, Ben Taylor from Sex Education will take on the roles of both executive producer and director for several episodes, with Matt and Ross Duffer also involved. Additionally, Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews have been appointed as the showrunners for this eight-episode series.
Though the characters in ‘The Boroughs’ are slightly older than those in ‘Stranger Things’, they share a delightful group of underdogs quality, and we’re eager for you to embark on a journey filled with moments that are both amusing, frightening, and heartwarmingly poignant. This is according to the Duffer brothers.
For quite some time now, we’ve admired the writing style of Jeff and Will. As soon as they shared their concept for “The Boroughs“, it was clear to us that they had a unique and extraordinary idea in their hands.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that from the beginning up to season 4, the captivating world of Stranger Things is streaming exclusively on Netflix. Excitingly, the fifth and final chapter is currently being produced!
