Stormzy credits Beyonce with inspiring him to become ‘superhuman’ on stage as he reveals VERY strict diet regime

As a lifestyle expert with a keen eye for inspiration and transformation, I find Stormzy’s journey to be nothing short of inspiring. His dedication to pushing his boundaries and striving for greatness is truly commendable. The fact that he drew inspiration from none other than the iconic Beyonce speaks volumes about his ambition and drive.

Stormzy has credited Beyonce for inspiring him to deliver ‘superhuman’ stage performances.

31-year-old rapper found motivation to work with a nutritionist and improve his physical fitness to an all-time high for the Glastonbury stage, following Beyonce’s discussion about her eating habits.

In an interview with Men’s Health UK, he mentioned that during Beychella, there was a moment when Beyoncé discussed her diet, and it made him think, “I could really use the expertise of a nutritionist right about now.

I aspire to become a performer who can maintain high energy for 90 minutes without stammering vocally, running out of breath, or requiring pauses, aiming to exhibit an almost superhuman level of endurance on stage, similar to the captivating performances I’ve witnessed from Beyoncé.

Stormzy shared details about the body makeover he undertook to prepare for his headline show at Glastonbury in 2019.

He said: ‘I was trying to get into a shape I’ve never been in in my life. I’m not someone who grew up super fit. I’ve always just been kind of bog standard.

“I was pushing both my body and diet to uncharted territories, all while aiming to craft an extraordinary, legendary stage setup. Although I had previously headlined Wireless, this was a whole new challenge. This was pulling out all the stops.

Looking back at my abilities prior to that performance, he remarked: “Back then, I used to perform without my soul, gospel, or R&B music.

Perhaps I gave a high-energy, thirty-minute performance strictly of grime music, pouring all my strength into it. At times on stage, I found myself contemplating, “I seem to have exhausted all my energy reserves.

Stormzy shared that he’s given up his past indulgences and adopted a disciplined eating plan to achieve the physique he desires.

This morning, instead of heading to the gym, I find myself drawn more towards lounging on TikTok or indulging in a hearty breakfast. Discipline isn’t something that comes easily to me, so I rely on having a structured routine.

For breakfast today, I had a spinach and egg skillet. However, I don’t fancy eating it. Instead, my goal is to achieve physical fitness and enjoy fantastic performances. Therefore, I choose to eat with this objective in mind.

In his assessment of his daily routine, where a perfect score of 100% indicates he maintains a clean diet, exercises regularly, and completes all tasks on time, Stormzy stated: “Over the span of six weeks, twelve weeks, eighteen weeks, if I can consistently achieve 100%, I know I’m on the right path.

When I step onto the stage, I’ll feel confident that I’m ready… On days when I only have 40% energy, the following morning, it seems as though I’ve collided with someone.

‘It’s just regret. I hate it. If I have a 40%, the next day needs to be 160.’

The full interview with Stormzy can be read in the Jan/Feb issue of Men’s Health UK, on sale from 20th December.
