Smokey Robinson, the Motown icon, looked relaxed and happy while playing golf with friends in Santa Barbara this week.
Exclusive photos from the Daily Mail show the 85-year-old singer looking healthy and happy while playing golf at Sandpiper Golf Course on Tuesday. He was seen smiling and chatting with other golfers, and stood out with his stylish look.
The famous musician arrived at the golf course wearing a vibrant red jacket with ‘JAMMIN” on the back. They completed the look with red and white golf shoes, white pants, and a baseball cap.
He arrived early in the morning and immediately went to the golf shop to get a cart, then drove it back to his SUV in the parking lot.
Even though he was quite old, he could still easily lift his golf clubs and put them in the cart without any assistance.
Robinson still looked striking, with his green eyes flashing from under his cap. He wore small silver hoop earrings and a thick chain necklace that was visible beneath his jacket.
One golfer told the Daily Mail that Smokey is a fantastic presence on the course, with energy levels that are hard to match.
Smokey is a frequent visitor to the local golf course, and other players have reported him dismissing the recent sexual battery accusations against him as a simple attempt to get money.
With an estimated net worth of $150 million, there’s plenty at stake.
But these exclusive photos suggest Smokey isn’t letting the lawsuits get him down.
In May 2025, Smokey Robinson and his wife, Frances, faced a $50 million lawsuit from four former employees. The lawsuit included accusations of sexual assault, sexual battery, and unfair labor practices, which also led to a criminal investigation.
As a longtime supporter of the Robinsons, I was heartbroken to hear about the false accusations against them. They immediately and rightfully fought back with a $500 million defamation lawsuit, and honestly, it’s the least they deserve. They called the claims disgusting and untrue, and rightly pointed out that it felt like a cruel attempt to exploit a beloved figure and amounted to elder abuse. It’s just awful what’s happening.
The lawsuit against the Grammy-winning star took a turn in November when two new, unnamed accusers – a man and a woman – came forward. They allege the singer attempted to make them touch his genitals.
Smokey’s lawyer, Christopher Frost, quickly responded to the accusations, dismissing them as a calculated and greedy attempt to harm his client.
These individuals, hiding their identities and aided by their lawyers, are aggressively seeking media attention while making deeply damaging and untrue claims.
Frost stated that once the truth comes to light, people’s selfish reasons and false statements will be exposed.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following these cases closely. In one instance, a housekeeper – identified as ‘Jane Doe 5’ – came forward with claims of ongoing harassment by Smokey during her employment from 2005 to 2011. She described the behavior as ‘constant’ and it’s a really important part of the overall picture we’re seeing.
She stated that he repeatedly grabbed her hand and attempted to make her touch his private area, claiming this happened over ten times.
She alleges he would ask her to enter the bathroom while he was showering as well.
His wife, 73-year-old Frances, is also facing accusations of making a difficult and uncomfortable work environment for the staff.
Although Smokey’s court case isn’t until October 2027, he’s been actively performing and entertaining fans with shows all over the country.
He’ll be performing next on Valentine’s Day at the Thunder Bay Casino in Lincoln, California.
The 2026 tour will also stop in Rancho Mirage, California; Atlantic City, New Jersey; Phoenix, Arizona; and Choctaw, Mississippi. A special performance with Glady’s Night is scheduled for July 25th at the Hollywood Bowl.
Smokey Robinson is known for popular songs like “The Tears of a Clown” (1967), “Cruisin'” (1979), “Being With You” (1981), and “Just to See Her” (1987), among others.
Between 1960 and 1970 he produced 26 Top 40 hits with the Miracles as the lead singer.
