Steven Spielberg’s ‘The Dinosaurs’ Takes a Bite Out of Streaming on Netflix

Steven Spielberg has always been fascinated by dinosaurs. This childhood passion ultimately inspired the blockbuster film Jurassic Park. Now, he’s revisiting this world as an executive producer for a new four-part Netflix series that quickly became a hit, reaching the top of the charts in under a week.

Narrated by Morgan Freeman, Netflix’s The Dinosaurs is a visually impressive documentary series that explores the complete history of dinosaurs, from the Triassic period to their extinction. Created by Dan Tapster and following up on his series Life on Our Planet, the show brings together leading paleontologists and fossil experts from around the world to offer a unique and informative look at these prehistoric creatures.

The new Netflix documentary, The Dinosaurs, which premiered on March 6th, has quickly become a huge hit with viewers around the world. It’s currently topping the charts, beating out popular shows like Bridgerton, The Night Agent, and Vladimir. People are fascinated by the story of dinosaurs – how they lived and why they disappeared. ‘The Dinosaurs’ Expands on What We Saw in ‘Life on Our Planet’

As a big fan of documentaries like Life on Our Planet, I immediately noticed The Dinosaurs has that same incredible look and feel – it’s made by the same team! Both shows use stunning nature footage combined with unbelievably realistic CGI to tell their stories. But while Life on Our Planet just dipped its toes into the prehistoric world, The Dinosaurs really dives in headfirst, covering the entire dinosaur era from start to finish.

Director Nick Shoolingin-Jordan explained to Tudum that this new series felt like a natural next step after ‘Life on Our Planet.’ He described the earlier series as a preview, saying this one fully details the complete story and will be a thrilling experience for viewers. Tapster also contributed.

In ‘Life on Our Planet,’ we only had eight 50-minute episodes to cover the entire history of life on Earth, which meant we could only briefly touch on some topics – the dinosaurs being a prime example. Now, with ‘The Dinosaurs,’ we’re able to explore their story completely and showcase it in a way that’s never been done before.
