Everyone is eagerly awaiting the summer release of Disclosure Day. It’s not just that it’s a new film by Steven Spielberg, but also because the movie’s plot is largely a mystery. Rumors are flying – some believe it’s a hidden follow-up to Close Encounters of the Third Kind, while others think it will finally reveal the truth about extraterrestrial life.
We now have some early details about the film thanks to an interview with its star, Colman Domingo, in the June issue of Men’s Health UK. He’s one of the few who have already seen Disclosure Day and shared his thoughts on it.
I saw the film a couple of weeks ago and was deeply moved to tears – something I don’t normally experience with science fiction. I immediately called Steven Spielberg, and we spoke for about half an hour. I told him that the film felt like a message of hope, demonstrating his belief in humanity and the strength we find when we unite.
Steven Spielberg famously made audiences tear up with E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, so it’s safe to say we should bring tissues when his new movie, Disclosure Day, comes out next month. It’s likely to be another emotional experience!

The upcoming film, Disclosure Day, centers on Emily Blunt’s character, Margaret Fairchild, a meteorologist. After a strange event happens while she’s working, she connects with Daniel Kellner (played by Josh O’Connor), a cybersecurity expert who believes he has proof that life exists beyond Earth.

This information is highly sensitive, making Margaret and Daniel targets of Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth). Scanlon heads Wardex, a company hired by the government to maintain the secrecy surrounding it.
However, some individuals are demanding transparency and the release of the truth. One of them is Hugo Wakefield, formerly of Wardex, who is now prepared to speak out against his previous company, believing it’s the right thing to do.

Good news for UK fans! Disclosure Day will now be released in cinemas on Wednesday, June 10th – two days before its US release. And after seeing Colman Domingo’s reaction, you’ll definitely want to get your tickets!
Fans can catch the actor next in season two of the popular Netflix comedy-drama, The Four Seasons, premiering on May 28th.
