Steven Knight’s hit returning period drama confirms Christmas return date
As a fan who has lived through the thrilling escapades of World War II dramas, I can hardly contain my excitement for the return of “SAS Rogue Heroes”! Having binge-watched the first season multiple times, I’ve come to appreciate the intricate storytelling and gripping performances that Steven Knight delivers. The prospect of diving back into the origins of the SAS is simply too enticing to resist.
Steven Knight’s series SAS Rogue Heroes has confirmed a festive return date.
In 2022, a BBC series made its premiere, tracing the roots of the elite British military unit known as the Special Air Service, or simply the SAS.
I’m super excited to share that after a thrilling trailer release, it’s officially confirmed! The second season of my favorite game series kicks off on New Year’s Day at 9 PM, exclusively on BBC One and iPlayer. Can’t wait for the next episode the very next day! Let’s gear up for an epic gaming journey together!
The new episodes will follow the troops as they embark on a mission in mainland Europe in 1943.
The GCHQ has raised questions about the regiment’s future, as a second unit is being formed and fresh recruits are joining, making life tougher for the soldiers. Yet, the narrative intriguingly asks if these troops can substantiate the SAS’s continued importance in any war they may be led to.
In Season 2, we can expect the recurrence of primary actors Jack O’Connell, Connor Swindells, and Dominic West playing their roles as Lieutenants Paddy Mayne and David Stirling, and Lieutenant Colonel Dudley Clarke.
Moreover, Sophia Boutella will reprise her role as Eve Mansour, and Gwilym Lee from ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ is set to play Bill Stirling in the upcoming film.
The initial season turned out to be extremely popular when it premiered, drawing approximately 6.8 million viewers each episode. Not surprisingly, additional episodes were promptly ordered for continuation of the show.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but express my excitement following the phenomenal reception of “Rogue Heroes”. With the green light for the next installment, the Peaky Blinders’ Knight couldn’t hide his jubilation upon renewal. The second series will propel our heroes into the heart of mainland Europe, pushing them to their absolute limits of fortitude.
Lindsay Salt, head of BBC Drama, commented: “The remarkable reception and high viewership numbers for SAS Rogue Heroes on iPlayer demonstrate the exceptional talent of Steven Knight in transforming our past into captivating, can’t-miss television for today.
The SAS Rogue Heroes are set to make their comeback in season 2, airing on BBC One and iPlayer at 9 PM sharp on New Year’s Day. If you haven’t watched the first season yet, it’s available for streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
