Steven Knight Confirms ‘Peaky Blinders’ Spin-off Film Will Receive a Theatrical Release

In a recent chat with The Playlist, Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight disclosed that the upcoming movie from the series, titled The Immortal Man, will hit the big screen instead of streaming directly on Netflix, which is quite unusual for a Netflix production.

The movie, titled “The Immortal Man,” follows Cillian Murphy’s return to acting after his popular six-season series aired between 2013 and 2022, where he played the lead role of Tommy Shelby in the historical crime drama. After the sixth season, Murphy has taken on another significant role in this new World War II film. The script for this project is being written by Steven Knight, with Tom Harper set to direct. During an interview, Knight shared exciting details about the upcoming film, stating that “We’ve got some of the best British acting talent all gathered together.” He has also seen early cuts of the movie and expressed his enthusiasm, saying it’s “mind-blowingly good.” In regards to its release in theaters, Knight confirmed, “Yes, I’ve just announced it. So, yes.

In another part of the interview, Knight mentions that the movie serves as a conclusion to the initial storyline, and he further hints at more Peaky Blinders projects beyond the film by saying, “As long as there’s interest and people are eager for it, and I have stories to share, then why not?” However, neither Knight nor Netflix has announced the official release date yet.
