Steve Miller Band abruptly CANCELS entire 2025 tour and blame acts of God

Legendary classic rock group the Steve Miller Band have cancelled their entire 2025 tour.

On Wednesday, the band’s main social media platforms shared a statement attributing their choice to unforeseen circumstances beyond human control (acts of God), which left their supporters feeling disappointed.

Hello to all fans of the Steve Miller Band,

Your passion for music aligns with how you navigate life – guided by your intuition. Remember, trust in your instincts is key.”

The statement originated from the band members: Steve Miller, Kenny Lee Lewis, Joseph Wooten, Jacob Petersen, and Ron Wikso.

The Steve Miller Band announced that they have canceled all their forthcoming concert schedules, as stated in a communication from the ‘Fly Like an Eagle’ band.

‘Given the dangerous mix of intense heatwaves, unexpected floods, tornados, hurricanes, and large-scale forest fires, we regret to inform you, our valued audience, that these conditions pose too great a risk for us – the band and crew. Consequently, under these weather circumstances, we’ve decided to cancel the tour.’

They finished composing the post with the words, ‘Uncertain about location or time… Looking forward to meeting you all once more. Sending you all Peace, Love, and Happiness. Stay safe and look out for one another. Best regards, Steve, The Band, and the Team.’

The information was additionally posted on the Steve Miller Band’s official site, and it appears that the 2025 tour dates are no longer available.

31 performances were planned for the band’s upcoming American tour, starting at Bethel, New York on August 15 and wrapping up in Anaheim, California on November 8, as reported by Variety.

Many fans were confused and disappointed by the reasoning behind the cancellation.

One unhappy fan expressed, ‘Really? I’m a huge admirer and have tickets for the tour, but next time, could you come up with a more convincing reason.’ (written on X)

‘This really doesn’t make sense. There is no imminent danger. Play indoors?’

‘All these things have always existed. To blame it on the weather sounds a little suspect.’

‘Better stay in bed everyday, something bad might happen otherwise…too risky,’ another joked.

‘You’re canceling all tours… because of nature? That is matter-of-fact dumb.’

‘I’m surprised you have the courage to simply exist another day with so much weather happening.’

‘Just say u didnt sell enough tickets,’ yet another fan chimed in.

The well-known rock group that produced songs such as ‘Rock ‘N Me’ and ‘Take the Money and Run’ was established in San Francisco back in 1966.

Lead singer Miller is the founder and only consistent original member of the band.

Miller was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016.

He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2022.

Following the announcement that Miller will enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame individually, rather than with the band, he explained to Rolling Stone: “I had no say in this, and I didn’t contribute to any aspect of the process.

If someone had asked me for suggestions on who should be present, I believe I would have responded, “Here is a roster of everyone who has ever been part of my band. I think they all deserve to be here.

Distinguished alumni from the past are musicians such as Boz Scaggs, Lonnie Turner, Gary Mallaber, Norton Buffalo, and Billy Peterson.
