Steve Coogan reprises Alan Partridge alter-ego while opening his own SOUND BATH as he joins Charlotte Hawkins and Anthea Turner at Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival

On Monday, Steve Coogan once again stepped into the shoes of his renowned character, Alan Partridge, to mark the inauguration of his unique sound bath setup at the Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival.

Instead of adhering to the stiff demeanor typical of the ineffective broadcaster, Alan brought a more relaxed vibe as he introduced his own space, attempting to maintain composure amidst the sweltering heat.

The garden mirrors the presenter’s detailed attention to design, beauty, and choice of materials, and it is characterized as a testament to strength, longevity, and emotional significance.

The RHS invited visitors ‘to experience a space that is both purposeful and forward-looking.’

It’s not unexpected that the garden has an amusing quirk built-in, and the character expresses his thoughts on this creation using vibrations in the air (sound waves).

Designers Joe and Laura shared: “During the planning phase, we tested out the garden. As soon as Alan’s voice echoed from the sculptural speakers, it all clicked – in a uniquely Alan fashion, which was quite amusing.

In a familiar pattern, Alan seemed busy with his customary activities, seen posing as if talking into an invisible microphone and casually fanning himself using headphones around his neck.

The designers confessed that they conceived an idea aimed at highlighting Alan’s expertise in broadcasting.

Additionally, Anthea Turner (age 65) and Charlotte Hawkins (age 50) were also part of the garden festival held on Monday.

They stood out with their vibrant floral attire while appreciating several exhibits during the event that runs from July 1st through the 6th.

As I stood there basking in the radiant sunshine, my companion and I couldn’t help but break into broad grins as we posed among the captivating floral displays from this year’s exhibition. The organizers had rolled out an enticing new category called ‘Gardens of Curiosity’, which not only offered a feast for the eyes but also aimed to engage and stimulate our minds, making it an unforgettable experience for all visitors.

Anthea was taken aback while adorning a striped pink gown, maintaining her composure amidst the prolonged British heatwave by donning a sun hat made of straw.

As a devoted admirer of style, I too donned a vibrant orange gown, accentuating the ensemble with shimmering gold accessories, bringing an element of elegance to my appearance.

Steve’s visit to the Alan Partridge Sound Garden follows his recent confession that the character had grown into a burden for him over the years.

During an interview on the seventh season of the Dish from Waitrose Podcast, shared with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, he expressed that at one point, he found the task to be burdensome.

‘So, when I do Partridge, I do it through choice. Not because I have to.’

‘I’m doing some stuff at the moment, and it does make me laugh, so… I make notes in my phone.

I’ve got this amusing thought that’s tickling me right now, while I’m riding the train. I can’t help but giggle a bit to myself. Suddenly, an image of Alan Partridge pops into my head, and I decide to jot it down on my phone, all by myself.

Either I’ll gaze into a storefront window and ponder aloud, “I wonder what Alan would make of this… It’s something I’ve continued for three decades, so it feels like a habit or an affliction by now.

In simple terms, Steve’s exceptional role in a character earned him a total of six awards, with his latest win being at the 2017 TV BAFTAs. This was for his performance as Alan Partridge in “Scissored Isle,” which was recognized as the Best Male Comedy Performance.
