Stephen Graham’s Netflix crime drama gets exciting update with release date confirmed

The intriguing new crime drama titled “Adolescence,” produced by Netflix, has set its debut date. It’s scheduled to stream starting on March 13, 2025.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that the upcoming four-episode series has some familiar faces: Stephen Graham, known for his role in Top Boy, Ashley Walters, and Erin Doherty, who stole the spotlight in The Crown. Can’t wait to see them bring their A-game!

The summary for “Adolescence” unfolds a compelling narrative where the life of a family is dramatically altered when 13-year-old Jamie Miller, portrayed by Owen Cooper, is accused of murdering a classmate who attends his school.

In this production, Graham is set to play the part of Jamie’s father, Eddie, while Walters assumes the role of Detective Inspector Luke Bascombe. Regarding Doherty, she will bring to life the character of the clinical psychologist who has been assigned to work with Jamie.

Netflix has shared (through Tudum) that the story is presented in real-time, following the journey of key characters like the central family and the law enforcement officers as they seek solutions after a startling event leaves them questioning everything.

As a devoted admirer, I’ve caught my first glimpse of this upcoming drama, thanks to Netflix unveiling the official images. Filmed on British soil, we’ve had sneak peeks before through leaked set photos as well.

The work titled “Adolescence” is jointly crafted by Graham and Jack Thorne (Help) in the scripting department. Philip Barantini serves as director, offering a comparable single-take approach reminiscent of his work in “Boiling Point“.

In addition to the main actors, you’ll find Mark Stanley from “Happy Valley,” Faye Marsay known for her role in “Ten Pound Poms,” and Christine Tremarco, who starred in “The Responder” on our show.

Stephen Graham is set to appear in another major production, Disney’s period drama titled “A Thousand Blows“, which premieres in February. In this upcoming show, he will reunite with his co-star Erin Doherty. This series delves into the hidden world of boxing rings secretly operating in Victorian London’s East End.

Adolescence will arrive on Netflix on March 13, 2025.
