Stephen Graham shared that he accidentally lost his Golden Globe award just hours after winning it for his performance in the TV mini-series Adolescence. He explained on Capital FM that a confusion at the airport caused him to misplace the statuette.
Graham explained that she flew from Los Angeles to Madrid immediately after the Golden Globes, needing to be on set the very next day. She barely had time to make her flight, with only 35 minutes to spare.
When I got off the plane, a woman quickly guided me down the stairs, into a car, and sped across the runway. Despite the rush, I was only worried about whether my luggage would arrive safely.

I told the staff member that my suitcase couldn’t go on the plane since I was no longer flying – I was already in a car. They assured me they would handle the situation, but unfortunately, my suitcase ended up being left behind in Atlanta.
When asked about the contents of his lost suitcase, Graham said it contained everyday items like socks, pants, and a toothbrush, but also his Golden Globe award. He explained he hadn’t lost the award itself, but rather packed it in the suitcase because it was heavy and he didn’t want to carry it on the plane.

The actor happily shared that he got his case – and his Golden Globe – back just two days later, bringing the story to a good conclusion.
The Golden Globe Awards took place on Sunday, January 11th at The Beverly Hilton in California, and featured a night full of stars.
Graham, a previous winner of both a SAG and a Primetime Emmy, received his first Golden Globe award at the ceremony. He was joined by his wife of 17 years, Hannah Walters, and his fellow cast members from Adolescence.

In his acceptance speech, Graham thanked the entire cast and crew, emphasizing that the award was a shared accomplishment. He expressed his sincere gratitude, saying he couldn’t have done it without their hard work and dedication.
I especially loved working with Christine Tremarco, who played my wife. She was a truly beautiful dancer. Here, take half of this – I’ll cut it for you, and you can have the better piece.
Graham ended his speech by thanking his team and especially his wife, Hannah Walters, whom he called one of the best producers and said had saved his life. He also expressed his love for his children, Grace and Alfie, and honored his father as his hero. He dedicated the award to his mother, as well as all of his friends and family, acknowledging their crucial support in making his success possible.
