Stephen Graham has confirmed his return for the Peaky Blinders movie.
In the sixth season of the BBC series, the actor took on the character of Hayden Stagg. He also shared that we can expect him to reprise his role in the upcoming cinematic continuation, which is now being filmed.
At the debut of “Blitz” this week, Deadline asked Graham about his future plans. His response was simply: “A touch of ‘Peaky Blinders’.
In this upcoming Netflix film, the actor will team up once more with returning star Cillian Murphy. Additionally, fresh faces joining the cast are Tim Roth from Marvel, Rebecca Ferguson known for Dune, and Barry Keoghan hailing from Saltburn.
Last month, a first glimpse of Murphy resuming his character, Tommy Shelby, was unveiled as production for the upcoming film officially started.
Creator Steven Knight will be back to write the screenplay, while Tom Harper is set to direct.
It was confirmed in June that there will be a “Peaky Blinders” movie, and at that time, Murphy stated, “I’m not done with Tommy Shelby yet.
“It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders,” he added. “This is one for the fans.”
Knight expressed genuine excitement as he shared that the movie is imminent, stating it would be a dynamic addition to the Peaky Blinders saga, with no restraints and a full-blown portrayal of Peaky Blinders in a state of war.
The filmmaker has additionally verified that the storyline takes place amidst World War II, hinting: “Just as the nation is embroiled in conflict, naturally, so too will be our Peaky Blinders.
As a game enthusiast, I can tell you there’s an electric sense of eager anticipation and pure exhilaration running through our exceptional team. We’re incredibly thankful to our amazing fanbase for helping us reach this momentous stage, and we truly believe that the upcoming chapter is going to serve up something truly extraordinary!
