Stephen Graham announces “era-defining” new project that promises to be “powerful and moving”

Stephen Graham is starting a groundbreaking new project that he says will be both impactful and emotionally resonant. This new work will build upon the ideas he introduced in his hugely popular series, *Adolescence*.

The Emmy-winning actor, known for his role in the Netflix drama, has released a new book called *Letters to Our Sons*. He says the book is meant to encourage further discussion about harmful ideas about what it means to be a man.

The project, a collaboration between Graham and psychology lecturer Orly Klein, will gather letters from fathers to their sons. These letters will explore the meaning of manhood.

What to Read Next

In *Letters to Our Sons*, Graham and Klein asked fathers from diverse backgrounds and across the globe to share personal stories, advice, and life lessons—including both their triumphs and mistakes—with their sons.

This book, described as a deeply touching and relatable collection of letters, will be published by Bloomsbury, with an expected release date sometime in October 2026.

Graham, the creator of the project, explained that after seeing how well his book *Adolescence* resonated with readers, he recognized a significant need for improved communication between fathers and sons. He believes this gap may be even wider now than in the past.

We’re hoping to connect fathers and sons and encourage open communication. We want to hear from all kinds of dads – new fathers, those who haven’t been involved, and even those who were present but felt distant – sharing their experiences.

From fathers who are grieving a loss, to those simply wanting to express their love and share what it means to be a man with their sons, this is for them – a way to connect and have open conversations.

When my son hit thirteen, I had a bunch of my male friends write him letters. I wanted them to share what they thought made a good man and give him some life advice. It was really cool – some letters made me laugh, others were a little sad, but most of them were just super thoughtful.

So, Stephen and I actually connected through a friend we both know. I was telling her about wanting to address the challenges young men are facing, and she immediately thought of him! She knew we both really cared about those issues and figured we’d have a lot to talk about – and maybe even a book idea brewing. Turns out she was right!

Okay, so Bloomsbury’s head, Katy Follain, was saying this whole project feels surreal – like a dream come true! She thinks *Letters to Our Sons* could be way more than just a book; she’s hoping it sparks a real cultural shift and genuinely helps people, maybe even saves lives. As a gamer, I’m used to immersive experiences, and honestly, that’s the vibe I’m getting from this – it’s aiming for something big.

Letters to Our Sons will be published in October 2026. Adolescence is streaming now on Netflix.
