Stephen Graham announced for new detective series – after Tom Hardy was ‘in talks’ for role
Stephen Graham is now part of the ensemble for a fresh detective television show, derived from the Joona Linna books written by Lars Kepler.
As reported by Deadline, the currently unnamed project is set to focus on the character of Jonah Lynn, a former soldier transitioning into a role as a homicide detective. In search of a tranquil lifestyle, he moves from bustling Philadelphia to a peaceful location in Western Pennsylvania.
Yet, as Jurek Walter launches a ruthless assault on the peaceful town, Jonah finds himself compelled to re-engage in the fray, driven by the need to safeguard his loved ones.

In the main part of this upcoming show, Liev Schreiber from “The Perfect Couple” will be cast, while Zazie Beetz from “Deadpool 2” has been chosen to portray the character Saga Bauer.
Simultaneously, it was revealed that the actor from “Adolescence,” Graham, had been cast as the role of serial killer Jurek. Previously, discussions about playing the villain had taken place with Tom Hardy.
This summer, the production for a new show set to air on Apple TV+ will take place in Pittsburgh, with A+E Studios handling its creation.
The co-lead producers, Rowan Joffe and John Hlavin, will oversee production along with Tim Van Patten, who is also slated to direct the initial two episodes.
The initial set of novels was written jointly by the collaborative duo, Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril, who published their work under the pen name Lars Kepler.
