Actor Stephen Dorff is rumored to be dating Amanda Shires, the ex-wife of musician Jason Isbell, after they were seen together on a late-night outing in Los Angeles.
The 52-year-old actor was seen holding hands with a musician as they entered the Chateau Marmont, a famous Hollywood hotel known for attracting celebrities.
Dorff went with a casual, tough look, sporting a faded brown leather jacket over a white tee and an unbuttoned light blue shirt. He completed the outfit with light-wash jeans and black and green sneakers.
He topped off the ensemble with a baseball cap as he walked closely beside his companion.
At 43, Shires looked stylish and put-together in a completely black ensemble, consisting of a leather jacket, cropped pants, and pointed heels.
She walked along the sidewalk with a black, organized handbag, her dark hair flowing freely as she looked down while they walked together.
Neither Dorff nor Shires has publicly commented on the nature of their relationship.
This new appearance follows Shires’ very public divorce from country musician Jason Isbell two years ago, a split that was widely discussed within the Americana and country music communities.
In February 2024, Isbell, 46, filed for divorce from Shires after nearly 11 years of marriage.
The former couple share one daughter, Mercy, nine.
Irreconcilable differences were cited in the divorce paperwork, which was filed in Tennessee.
Despite separating in December 2023, the country stars only finalized their divorce in March, 2025.
Throughout their marriage, Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires often worked together musically. Shires sang backup on Isbell’s tours, and he played guitar with her band, The Highwomen.
Over the years, both artists have been open about the difficulties they faced in their relationship, especially while dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a 2022 interview with People, Amanda Shires explained that relationships, whether you’re well-known like her and Jason Isbell or not, all have their challenges. She said there are always good times and bad, and you just do your best to navigate them. She added that life and marriage aren’t easy, but we should appreciate the chance to experience them.
I remember Jason Isbell talking about a really tough time he went through a while back. He shared with The New York Times in 2020 that making his album, Reunions, actually made him pull inward and become more emotionally distant. It’s interesting how creating something can sometimes have that effect, even when you’re putting so much of yourself into it.
He admitted to once thinking, “It would have been simpler if someone had been dishonest.” But he quickly realized the real problem wasn’t cheating, but a lack of connection and communication. He explained it felt like, “We didn’t know each other, and we couldn’t even understand each other.”
To give each other space, Shires briefly stayed in a hotel. She then used the difficult emotions from that time to inspire her music, including the song “Fault Lines,” which reflects the emotional distance she and her partner felt.
After getting back together and trying to fix things for three years, they eventually decided to separate.
