Steak with a side of butter and a glass of bone broth for ‘dessert’: Penrith Panthers player Nathan Cleary reveals his day on a plate as he goes on carnivore diet

Steak with a side of butter and a glass of bone broth for 'dessert': Penrith Panthers player Nathan Cleary reveals his day on a plate as he goes on carnivore diet

As an ardent follower of Nathan Cleary’s journey, I must say his dedication to his health and fitness is nothing short of inspiring! His relentless pursuit of excellence, whether it’s on the field or off, is truly commendable. The way he navigates a long-distance relationship with Mary, while maintaining such focus on his sport, is a testament to his resilience and maturity.

Nathan Cleary is getting in touch with his inner caveman.

This week, the star player from the Penrith Panthers team showcased his daily food intake on Instagram, highlighting that it’s primarily composed of various types of meat.

Each morning, the 27-year-old kicks off his day by having breakfast made from water mixed with Celtic sea salt and sea moss.

At noon, he gets two grass-fed beef steaks accompanied by pats of butter, and there will be additional steak for dinner as well.

His final main course consisted of three eggs fried in beef fat, along with two grilled steaks. This was concluded with a sweet treat, or dessert.

There weren’t any desserts available; instead, Nathan chose to prepare a drink by adding bone broth to a glass and stirring in some sea moss.

‘Day on a plate. Carnivore/Shedding fat before pre season edition’ he explained in his caption.

By the way, this isn’t my usual eating plan, but it’s what I’ve been following temporarily… I might share another “daily meal breakdown” post once I resume my regular workout routine.

His fans were generally supportive, but some took issue with his ‘dessert’,

One individual humorously remarked, “Jesus, let’s not mix him up with a dessert!!! lol” To which another replied, “Well, I was just wondering, isn’t there a little treat after dessert?

The first person asked, “What about the vegetables you have?” To which the second person replied humorously, “I eat four steaks daily instead!

In my role as a lifestyle guide, I find myself reflecting on the journey shared by Nathan, who has expressed his desire to build a future with Mary Fowler, yet acknowledged the challenges that come with nurturing a long-distance romance.

After securing Penrith their fourth straight championship, Cleary and Fowler enjoyed some time together following this season’s NRL grand final, with him traveling to England to meet up with her. Later, he accompanied her to Switzerland, where she was competing for the Matildas.

It seemed like their bond grew stronger when Cleary was captured on camera holding Katrina Gorry’s daughter, Harper, while watching Australia play against Germany – marking the initial instance of him spending time with his partner’s dearest friends.

Cleary had to return home in November in order to have shoulder surgery in time to be fully healthy for the start of the NRL season on March 1 next year – but he and Fowler have both been busy posting shots of each other on social media as they keep their long-distance relationship alive.

However, Cleary has admitted that the distance between them is taking a toll.

He expressed that it’s been quite challenging, and honestly, it’s not a situation I ever envisioned myself being in, during his conversation with the Keegan and Company podcast.

It appears that our initial encounter sparked a connection between us, leading us to believe that the relationship would likely take a long-distance form. If we decided to pursue this, it seemed inevitable.

Occasionally, after returning home, there’s an urge for a quick hug, yet it seems that this has brought us closer on emotional and intellectual grounds, enabling heartfelt discussions instead.

Instead of avoiding it, we find our ways past it, and whenever we meet, those encounters feel extraordinary. I’m truly thankful for every moment we share together.

‘We’re constantly talking on FaceTime or whatever and we sort of find our way through that.’

The Panthers’ playmaker mentioned that he and Fowler have discussed the possibility of starting a family, but at the moment, the circumstances don’t seem conducive to raising a family.

‘It’s obviously tough that we are both pretty stuck into our sport,’ he said.

In the future, I am eagerly looking forward to starting a family, ideally with Mary by my side. I strongly believe that she will make an exceptional mother.

‘But yeah, we’ll see. It’s not a rush at the moment but definitely in the future.

‘Post footy, I would love to have a little family of my own.’

Clearly explained that a vital aspect of their relationship lies in their mutual comprehension of each other’s spheres or environments.

‘It is and she definitely understands’ he explained.

‘People look at us and think that we are talking about our sport all the time.’

Occasionally, it’s simply delightful to simply be together, not as sports enthusiasts, but as fellow humans, sharing conversation on topics beyond the field, he pointed out.

As a die-hard sports enthusiast, I’d say there’s an unspoken bond between us. We both share this passion for sports that seems to consume our conversations, but when we’re together, it’s not just about the game. It’s about the comfort and trust that allows us to confide in each other when things aren’t going as planned. We can exchange thoughts, brainstorm solutions, and find solace in our shared experiences. It’s this unique camaraderie that makes our friendship truly special.

Currently, Fowler has chosen not to participate in the recent international matches against Brazil and Taiwan with the national team.

She mentioned that she wanted to use this period to focus on her healing, both mentally and physically, to rejuvenate herself. This way, she can keep presenting her best for the team, whether it’s her club or her country.

This week, Fowler made his comeback for Manchester City, scoring an outstanding goal in their convincing 4-0 victory against Leicester.
