Apple TV has released a first look and confirmed the release date for its upcoming thriller, Lucky. The series stars Anya Taylor-Joy, known for The Queen’s Gambit, and follows a con artist on the run from a powerful crime boss.
The series is based on Marissa Stapley’s 2021 novel and tells the story of what happens after a large robbery doesn’t go as planned. Lucky, a skilled con artist played by Taylor-Joy, has to flee to escape the consequences.
The story follows Lucky as she’s chased by the FBI and a dangerous crime boss, forcing her to fight to survive and escape.

The new series, Lucky, will begin streaming on Wednesday, July 15th, with the first two episodes available immediately. New episodes will be released every Wednesday after that.

Taylor-Joy will be joined by Annette Bening, known for Apples Never Fall; Timothy Olyphant from Alien: Earth; Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor of Nickel Boys; Drew Starkey, who starred in Queer; Clifton Collins Jr. from Nightmare Alley; and William Fichtner of Mom.
Jonathan Tropper, the creator of the Apple TV+ show Your Friends & Neighbors, is working as a co-showrunner on this new series with Cassie Pappas, who worked on Silo. Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon and Anya Taylor-Joy are both executive producers.

Apple TV+ has announced a June premiere date and released a first look at a new version of Cape Fear, featuring Javier Bardem, Amy Adams, and Patrick Wilson. This news comes alongside the release date and preview for another Apple TV+ show, Lucky.
This series is inspired by a classic story – originally a 1957 book, then a 1962 film, and later a 1991 thriller starring Robert De Niro. It centers around a dangerous criminal who escapes prison seeking revenge on the lawyers who convicted him.
The new series, Lucky, will debut on Apple TV on Wednesday, July 15th, with the first two episodes available immediately. After that, new episodes will be released every week.
