Stardew Valley’s 1.6 update on console, mobile ‘still in progress’

As a dedicated gamer and long-time fan of Stardew Valley, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and frustration as I read about the delay in the release of the 1.6 update on console and mobile platforms. Having sunk countless hours into this game on PC, I’ve come to know and love every detail of Stardew Valley’s charming world. The thought of being able to experience the new farm type, mini festivals, and other features on my mobile device or console is truly enticing.

As a devoted fan of Stardew Valley, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the long-awaited 1.6 update for console and mobile users like myself. However, it seems we’ll have to be patient for a little while longer. Although PC players received the update back in March, the rollout to Android, Apple devices, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X is taking more time.

“I’m well aware of the lengthy delay, it’s constantly on my mind,” Barone penned down. “Rest assured, I’ve been dedicating each day to advancing the mobile version. I’ll share updates as soon as significant progress is made (for instance, a release date). Enjoy your summer in the meantime.”

I understand that the ongoing ports and PC update process has been taking a significant toll on me, as it seems to be dragging on endlessly. Every waking moment, my thoughts are consumed by this project, leaving little room for anything else. I’ve dedicated every day of late to the mobile port, putting in countless hours of hard work and dedication. I know how important it is to deliver a quality product, and I won’t compromise on that front. However, I also understand the frustration and anxiety this delay may be causing for some of you. Trust me when I say that I share your enthusiasm and am as eager as anyone for meaningful news, such as a release date. In the meantime, I hope you’re all having a great summer and finding joy in other areas of your lives. Stay patient with us, and we’ll keep you updated as soon as there is anything substantial to report.

Fortunately, the community of players for “Stardew Valley” have shown understanding and support regarding the delay. Many have left comments expressing gratitude for Barone’s dedication to the game and encouraging him to take his time with the update. Barone himself mentioned that he is handling the mobile port development, while Sickhead Games is responsible for the console versions according to the FAQ.

I’m thrilled to share that the long-awaited 1.5 update for Stardew Valley finally dropped on my PC back in December 21, 2020. And if that wasn’t exciting enough, console farmers like myself received it on February 11, 2021!

The latest update for Stardew Valley, version 1.6, has taken players by surprise with its extensive content: A new farm type, two small festivals, an additional three-day Spring event, and a Summer event are just some of the additions. Furthermore, Barone incorporated numerous smaller enhancements to boost the game’s overall experience. All Stardew Valley updates, no matter their scale, have been provided at no cost to players. In gratitude for this generous gesture, a player praised Barone, prompting him to make a solemn vow: “I pledge by the reputation of my family name that I will never ask for payment for any DLC or update throughout my life. Feel free to save and share this statement as a reminder.”
