Starbound is Out Now For Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One Following 2020 PC Release

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for exploration and interstellar adventures, I must say that Starbound’s release for Xbox is music to my ears! Ever since my days of mining asteroids in Elite Dangerous and farming crops in Stardew Valley, I’ve been yearning for a game that combines both the vastness of space and the charm of farm life.

Today, Chucklefish, the publisher of Stardew Valley, has made Starbound available on Xbox. This means the 2020 PC game is now playable on consoles, offering full controller compatibility, an adjustable auto-aim option, multiplayer mode for up to four players, and all the updates that have been rolled out on the PC version.

In Starbound, you embark on a journey through the vast expanses of space, escaping your homeland after an alien invasion. Adrift among the celestial bodies, your priority becomes repairing your ship and descending to planets beneath for essential resources. As you strategize to rescue the universe from the alien menace that devastated your home, you’ll navigate procedurally-generated galaxies.

Instead, consider embarking on a journey through the universe to uncover its secrets, or establish settlements on undiscovered planets where you’ll cultivate crops, discover exotic creatures, or brave perilous caves. Or perhaps, you might aspire to rule as an intergalactic ruler. The decision is yours. There are seven distinct interstellar races for you to choose from, and a narrative filled with intriguing characters, formidable foes, and engaging quests.

As an enthusiastic gamer, I’m thrilled to share that Starbound offers three distinct gameplay modes! The first is the Boastful Casual mode, where you can explore without the hassle of needing to eat. Next is Survival mode, where you’ll need to maintain your hunger while exploring and be prepared to drop your items upon death. Lastly, there’s Hardcore permadeath mode, where each mistake could mean game over. Starbound is now available for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, priced at $14.99, £11.99, or €13.99. Dive into the action with the launch trailer below!
