Star Wars recently shared a concept design for a live-action version of the popular villain, Asajj Ventress. Though she hasn’t appeared in live-action Star Wars yet, fans have consistently requested her inclusion. Now, as fans eagerly await a larger role for the character, a new design has been revealed.
Lucasfilm Games has shared a realistic new image of Asajj Ventress, a character from Star Wars. The image, created to promote the mobile game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (now in early access), shows the villain with a yellow lightsaber, yellow robes, and a short haircut, giving fans a glimpse of how she might appear in a live-action adaptation.

Fans have long hoped to see Asajj Ventress brought to life, and a recent mural created by Lucasfilm for Star Wars Celebration 2019 came incredibly close. The artwork, which continues to be popular with fans, depicted Ventress in a realistic, live-action style alongside Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker and a similar version of Ahsoka Tano – even before Rosario Dawson was cast in that role.

Sideshow Collectibles created a 22-inch statue of Asajj Ventress, featuring a distinctive outfit inspired by the Nightsisters. The statue depicts Ventress in black robes with red highlights, her pale eyes creating a striking and intimidating appearance as she wields a red lightsaber.
She’s rarely depicted in a realistic art style, but appeared in a mural at the 2019 Star Wars Celebration and as a statue created by Sideshow Collectibles.

As a frequent character in various Star Wars animated series, Asajj Ventress has appeared with several different designs. The 2003-2005 Star Wars: Clone Wars mini-series featured a traditionally hand-drawn animation style and depicted her wearing white, bandage-like robes, with completely white eyes that lacked pupils.

Asajj Ventress is best known for her role in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, which ended in 2020. The show detailed her transformation from a Nightsister to a deadly assassin, a change reflected in her shaved head and slender build.

Ventress was also featured in Star Wars comics, particularly in the “Star Wars Republic” series. These comics showed her transformation from a Jedi fighter to a follower of the dark side, and her collaboration with the villainous Count Dooku.

As a huge Star Wars fan, I was thrilled to see Asajj Ventress back in action! After they’d written her off in the novels, I honestly thought that was it, so seeing her reappear in The Bad Batch was a fantastic surprise. And a yellow lightsaber? Even better! Apparently, Fennec Shand reached out to her because of Omega’s unique genetic markers – her M-count – and Ventress answered the call. It’s great to have her story continuing in animation.

Currently, there are no announced plans to include Ventress in any upcoming Star Wars animated series or live-action shows. The next installment, The Mandalorian and Grogu, is scheduled to release in theaters on May 22nd.
Will Asajj Ventress Be Brought Into Live-Action Star Wars?

Asajj Ventress is a well-loved Star Wars character, particularly known as a villain. Now that a new game has revealed a realistic depiction of her, fans are wondering if she might appear in the live-action Star Wars TV shows or movies in the future.
The next season of Ahsoka seems like the most likely place Ventress might reappear, though it’s uncertain if that season will be released this year. Given her past conflicts and shifting alliances with Ahsoka, fans would be excited to see them fight again or even team up.
The first season introduced the Nightsisters to live-action, helping Grand Admiral Thrawn, played by Lars Mikkelsen, escape from Peridea. This opens the door for the return of Asajj Ventress in live-action, given her Nightsister heritage. Star Wars previously brought her back briefly in The Bad Batch, suggesting a willingness to revisit her character.
Although it’s unclear what the future holds for this Star Wars villain, many fans are hoping she’ll get a satisfying story in live-action, especially since she’s become so popular in animated series.
