Star Wars: Skeleton Crew lands first trailer

As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who vividly remembers the thrill of discovering the galaxy far, far away during my formative years, I must say that the first trailer for Disney+’s Skeleton Crew has me absolutely giddy with excitement! The 80s and 90s nostalgia is strong with this one, reminiscent of classics like The Goonies and original Jumanji, but with a galactic twist.

Star Wars‘ latest Disney+ streaming series Skeleton Crew has released its first trailer.

On Tuesday, December 3rd, the show headlined by Jude Law is set to debut on Disney’s streaming platform.

Simultaneously, the trailer not only explains the story’s foundation but also establishes its atmosphere. Reminiscent of 80s and 90s movies such as The Goonies and the first Jumanji, Skeleton Crew follows a band of kids who stumble upon something buried and neglected – an ancient Jedi temple in this instance. This discovery propels them into an exciting and perilous journey. However, instead of Earth, they find themselves in another world, or rather, a galaxy.

From the perspective of children, the universe of Star Wars is depicted with amazement and enchantment, which is not typically portrayed by the franchise itself. The character of the Jedi that Jude Law will embody is yet to be fully revealed in this piece.

The show’s episodes will be led by a diverse group of directors, such as Daniels from “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” Jon Watts known for his work on the MCU’s “Spider-Man,” David Lowery famous for “The Green Knight,” Jake Schreier who directed “Beef,” and Lee Isaac Chung and Bryce Dallas Howard, both previously involved in “The Mandalorian” (which shares the same timeline as “Skeleton Crew”).

A year ago, Jude Law expressed his feelings about the series saying, “When I was six, this universe, this world captivated me, left me astounded.”

Since then, it seems as though I’ve been gearing up for this moment. The whole experience was absolutely delightful, and one of the most memorable parts was collaborating with the exceptionally skilled individuals who worked backstage. Truly, it was a cherished dream realized.

The Star Wars films and series can be streamed on Disney+ by subscribers, with the upcoming show “Skeleton Crew” set to debut on December 3rd.
