According to a former actor from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Lucasfilm shelved a planned Boba Fett storyline that was considered exceptional and instead focused on the character Ahsoka Tano. The Clone Wars originally aired on Cartoon Network from 2008 to 2013, completing six seasons before its cancellation. The show was later brought back for a final season, which premiered on Disney+ in 2020.
Over time, rumors have surfaced about an original plan for a seventh season of the show, making fans question whether the final season we actually got was always the intended conclusion. Recently, Daniel Logan, a voice actor from Clone Wars, shared some information about this canceled seventh season at a fan convention.

At Space Con 2025 (as reported by Popverse), actor Logan – famous for playing a young Boba Fett in the Star Wars prequels and the Clone Wars animated series – shared that the seventh season of Clone Wars was originally intended to center around his Boba Fett character.
Logan shared that a planned Season 7 of the show would have focused on Boba Fett, specifically detailing how he acquired his new armor. He described it as both a fantastic and disappointing situation, as the season never came to fruition.
One of the most memorable – and disappointing – parts of working on the show was that we’d already planned a full seventh season centered around Boba Fett. The idea was to show how he acquired his new armor. A lot of fans assume he simply used Jango Fett’s old gear, but as you might recall from earlier seasons, Boba actually destroyed Jango’s helmet while attempting to kill Mace Windu.
Originally, the plan was for Boba Fett to have a showdown with his protégé, Cad Bane. Some of the ideas from that planned duel later appeared in the Disney+ series, The Book of Boba Fett.

Logan pointed out that Lucasfilm recently shared a brief clip from the unfinished Season 7 storyline, specifically “the chase between Anakin Skywalker and Boba Fett.”
We created a storyline detailing how Boba Fett acquired his armor. It included an arc explaining the dent in his helmet and his battle with Cad Bane. Interestingly, despite seemingly being defeated, Cad Bane survived and later became an enemy in ‘The Book of Boba Fett.’ Recently, they’ve released footage of the chase scene between Anakin Skywalker and Boba Fett, which is now available online. They are gradually sharing some of the early, filmed material.
This refers to the animation footage from the canceled season that was released online earlier in the year.
Season 7 of The Clone Wars primarily followed Ahsoka Tano’s experiences during the events of Revenge of the Sith, ultimately leading to her survival of Order 66 and the Jedi Purge. All seven seasons of The Clone Wars are currently available to stream on Disney+.
Why Did Star Wars Abandon Its Initial Clone Wars Plan?
Star Wars fans have always wondered what happened with the cancelled Season 7 of The Clone Wars. While hints about the planned story have surfaced before, recent comments from Daniel Logan offer the clearest details yet about where the season was headed.
Boba Fett is a hugely popular character in the Star Wars universe, so many fans were likely disappointed to learn an entire season of The Clone Wars focused on his story after Attack of the Clones. This disappointment is heightened by the fact that the recent The Book of Boba Fett series wasn’t well-received by audiences.
Focusing on Ahsoka Tano instead of Boba Fett in the final season of The Clone Wars feels like the right choice, considering the direction the show ultimately took.
If Season 7 had continued the show’s focus on the time period between Episodes II and III, the storyline featuring Boba Fett would have fit perfectly. Unfortunately, the season took a different direction.
Season 7 was the last of the Clone Wars series, and it had a difficult job: finishing the show’s story while also connecting to the events of Revenge of the Sith. This meant the focus had to be on Ahsoka, showing her struggle as the Republic fell apart.
Since Clone Wars really focused on Ahsoka’s story, it was natural to give her character a lot of attention in the final season.
