Star Wars Outlaws nabs three nominations at The Game Awards!

As a long-time Star Wars enthusiast and a dedicated gamer, I can’t help but feel a surge of excitement as I witness the nominations for “Star Wars Outlaws” at The Game Awards! Being a part of this vibrant community where creativity meets storytelling has been an incredible journey.

Star Wars Outlaws, a new game in the Star Wars series, has earned three nominations for The Game Awards, as reported by Variety. If it wins, this will be during the awards ceremony scheduled for December 12, making it the first open-world game in the Star Wars franchise to claim victory in its respective categories.

The initial nomination for the Best Performance accolade has been given to Humberly González for her portrayal of Kay Vess, which is incredibly gratifying for her. At the gamescom 2024 event, she shared that playing Kay felt very natural for her due to the character’s imperfections, expressing gratitude for these flaws in the process.

I think it naturally came to me. I always love playing characters that are a little bit sassy and witty, kind of quick to clap back. I just kind of used that natural attitude that came to me, and obviously, the character depends on once we knew it was a scoundrel story, that I was in Star Wars. The tone just adds to the relevance of the world.

In 2020, we introduced a new nomination category focused on Innovation in Accessibility, reflecting its growing significance within the video game sector. As games become more diverse, accessibility becomes increasingly crucial for maximizing enjoyment among players. The personalized features of “Star Wars Outlaws” were particularly noteworthy, making it all the more satisfying to acknowledge its recognition in this category.

In this category, the most distinguished and fiercely competed is undoubtedly the one. It’s nominated for Best Action/Adventure Game, going head-to-head with several beloved titles such as “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown”, “Silent Hill 2”, and “The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom”. Nevertheless, it seems that ASTRO BOT holds a strong lead, having tied with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for the highest number of nominations and also being a potential frontrunner for Game of the Year.

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I can’t help but feel a thrill of excitement as we eagerly anticipate the results on December 12 for “Star Wars Outlaws”. For now, just being nominated is an incredible honor that fills me with pride.
