Star Wars: Oscar Isaac Reveals if a Poe Dameron Return Is Possible

In the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Oscar Isaac portrayed Poe Dameron. Although it appears that his character may not reappear, Isaac has shared insights about potential circumstances under which he might rejoin the series.

What would make Oscar Isaac return to Star Wars?

During a recent conversation with Variety, Isaac humorously addressed his association with Star Wars. In a light-hearted moment, he made a reference to The Simpsons’ character, Ralph Wiggum, who famously said “I’m a Star Wars,” to express uncertainty about whether he might rejoin the franchise again.

“Yeah, I’d be a Star Wars again if there was something good to do with that,” said Isaac.

Oscar Isaac made his debut in the Star Wars universe as Poe Dameron, a Resistance X-wing fighter pilot, in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” released in 2015. He formed alliances with Rey and Finn during this time. His most recent appearance in the renowned series was in “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” from 2019, but since then, he has not returned to the franchise.

The upcoming Star Wars movie, set for release on May 22, 2026, is titled “The Mandalorian and Grogu.” This film is a continuation of the Disney+ series, “The Mandalorian,” directed by Jon Favreau and produced by Dave Filoni. Pedro Pascal will once again play Din Djarin, and the cast also features Sigourney Weaver and Jeremy Allen White.

Following this point, the movie titled “Star Wars: Starfighter” is scheduled for release on May 28, 2027. Shawn Levy is responsible for its direction, and Ryan Gosling has been chosen for the role. Notably, the storyline of “Star Wars: Starfighter” unfolds after the occurrences depicted in “Rise of Skywalker.
