Star Wars’ Next Disney+ Series Unveils a Former Jedi Villain With Dual Purple Lightsabers!

The upcoming Star Wars series on Disney+ is set to debut in September, featuring a fresh character transformation from Jedi Master to darkside antagonist, boasting an eccentric lightsaber design. Following the finale of Andor Season 2 in May, the galaxy far, far away has several confirmed Star Wars streaming series planned for release in 2025 and beyond. Recently, the franchise has ventured into unconventional, non-canonical stories with shows like Visions and LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, and both will return with new seasons this year.

Lucasfilm has officially announced that the upcoming Lego Star Wars Disney+ series, titled “Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past,” will feature Dan Stevens from “Legion” as Master Solitus. This new Star Wars villain, set to debut in the four-episode series premiering on September 19 on Disney+, boasts a distinctive evil appearance with two gleaming purple lightsabers and an enigmatic past entwined with the Jedi Order. The secrets of his history with the Jedi are set to be revealed as the story unfolds.

In simpler terms, the antagonist was once the mentor to the character known as “Jedi Bob” or “Bobarian Afol”, who first appeared in the original “Rebuild the Galaxy” series.

Now, it appears that Solitus is preparing to assume a fresh position, coaching Tony Revolori’s character Darth Dev. This individual, as described by the actor from “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” is someone that Solitus has been eagerly seeking – his long-awaited master, as we move into “Pieces of the Past.

Dev’s complicated voyage becomes even more confusing with the arrival of Solitus. According to Revolori, Dev considers Solitus as the Master he’s been searching for all along, a true Sith Lord indeed! However, that’s not how the actor would describe him personally. Instead, he sees Solitus as someone with numerous problems; he needs friendship and love greatly.

The character Solitus is going to appear in the upcoming “The Force Burner Snowspeeder” LEGO collection, based on “Pieces of the Past”, set to hit stores on August 1st for a price of $54.99.

We take a detailed view of his LEGO figure, which portrays a sinister character with two interconnected purple lightsabers. This is an unusual choice for Star Wars villains who typically use red lightsabers, but Solitus doesn’t fit the Sith mold. Instead, it appears he was once a Jedi Master who has turned against his own kind.

Star Wars hinted that the character Solitus should not be taken lightly or trifled with, while also jokingly commenting on his intimidating moniker.

Jedi Master Bob has learned from experience that his ex-mentor, the menacing Solitus, should neither be underestimated nor provoked. Moynihan cautions, ‘Solitus’ name is enough to instill fear, just try saying it quickly a few times! I double dare you.’ With such an imposing name, one can only imagine the damage Solitus could cause.

In the “Force Burner Snowspeeder,” his LEGO character hops on a STAP for a fight, battling side by side with Sig Greebling and Darth Dev.

The four-episode season of “Lego Star Wars: Rebuilding the Galaxy – Pieces from the Past” is set to debut on Disney+ on September 19, picking up where the non-canonical galactic story from the 2024 animated series left off.

The program brings together a high-profile ensemble featuring Gaten Matarazzo (from “Stranger Things”), Tony Revolori (“Spider-Man: Far From Home”), Bobby Moynihan (“The Secret Life of Pets”), and Ben Schwartz (“Sonic the Hedgehog”). On the other hand, Ashley Eckstein is back as Ahsoka Tano, while Ahmed Best once again lends his voice to the much-discussed Darth Jar Jar, who has recently become part of the “Fortnite” universe.

Who Is Solitus in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Season 2?

Solitus is an unusual Star Wars villain who chose not to use the typical red lightsaber; instead, he uses Mace Windu’s well-known purple one. This could be because of his roots as a Jedi Master, as he continues to carry and utilize his old heroic weapon, rather than altering its color by extracting a Kyber Crystal from another source.

It isn’t completely clear what Solitus’ past is about, other than him training Jedi Bob and later switching to the dark side to apparently tutor Darth Dev. However, given that the LEGO Star Wars series are not part of the main canon but instead have their own amusing universe, fans shouldn’t anticipate this storyline to impact the broader narrative of Star Wars.
