Star Wars: Legion Starter Sets are now up for pre-order in the US
If you share my enthusiasm for the upcoming Star Wars: Legion Starter Sets, here’s some exciting news! Not only have release dates been announced for these new sets, but they are now open for pre-orders too!
Initially, the starter sets for the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire will debut on September 19 this year. Approximately a month and a half afterwards, on November 7, you can expect the introduction of the Separatist Alliance and the Galactic Republic starter sets.
Initially priced at $95, these items now go for $99.99, a reasonable increase considering a beginner’s set in similar wargames typically costs nearly twice as much.
Starter Set Contents
Every Star Wars: Legion beginner set contains a total of 600 points’ worth of models, equivalent to a recon team-sized army. Moreover, the set includes all essential gaming materials such as unique dice, templates for movement and range measurements, command and upgrade cards, and battle cards, ensuring you have everything needed to start playing this engaging game right away.
In every starter pack, you’ll find the head of their respective factions, who are allotted within the total points of 600. The Empire includes Darth Vader, the Separatists have General Grievous, the Galactic Republic has Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Jedi Protector, while the Rebel Alliance gets Luke Skywalker as their leader.
If you’re curious as to why the Galactic Republic set includes Obi-Wan Kenobi and a Jedi Guardian, it is because the Jedi Guardian commands the ARF troopers that are included in the kit. Notably, Jedi Guardians can also command ARC troopers, providing an exciting opportunity for collectors looking to expand their clone army once the set becomes available.
One exciting development I’m eagerly anticipating is the arrival of our new kits made from durable hard plastic. This material allows for the application of plastic glue, which I prefer over resin, metal, or minis sourced from any other materials. In my view, these plastic kits are simpler to assemble and also more convenient to paint.
Keep an eye out as I’ll be writing individual articles about each newly released Star Wars: Legion starter kit over the coming days, detailing their contents and sharing my thoughts on them.
