Star Wars legend Warwick Davis lands huge BAFTA honour
As a gamer, I’m super excited to share that this year, the legendary Warwick Davis is receiving the esteemed BAFTA Fellowship! It’s an incredible honor for someone who has left such a remarkable impact on the world of entertainment.
The BAFTA Fellowship honors individuals who have achieved extraordinary and unparalleled success in the fields of cinema, video games, or television. This esteemed award will be bestowed upon Davis during the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards taking place on February 16th.
Lenny Rush joined Davis on tonight’s (January 10) The One Show to make the announcement.
Davis stated that The Fellowship represents the values of inclusiveness, originality, and teamwork that are fundamental to BAFTA.”

This honor doesn’t solely celebrate the body of work I’ve produced, but also the supporters who’ve stayed by my side and the audience members who have made this journey meaningful. I gratefully receive this Fellowship in tribute to anyone living with dwarfism or any kind of difference, serving as a reminder that our uniqueness can be our most valuable strength.
I’d like to extend my gratitude to the exceptional team members and dear friends who work diligently off-camera – costume designers, makeup artists, cameramen – who selflessly dedicate their passion to each project without seeking the limelight.
With all sincerity, I deeply appreciate this remarkable recognition. I eagerly anticipate further promoting innovative viewpoints, advocating for improved diversity, and motivating future tale-spinners to aim high.

Besides acting in films like Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Willow, Davis also founded Willow Management – a company that specializes in representing actors who are either under 5 feet or over 7 feet in height.
Apart from his other roles, he is additionally the founder alongside others of Little People UK, an organization providing companionship, monetary assistance, and advice to individuals with dwarfism, as well as their loved ones. Meanwhile, Davis’s Short Statured Theatre Company caters to performers who stand less than five feet tall.

Warwick’s unforgettable acting roles, as well as his efforts towards promoting diversity both in front of and behind the camera, have left an indelible mark on the film industry. He has been a trailblazer in pushing for a more diverse and compassionate world.
Once more, this year’s British Academy Film Awards (EE BAFTAs) will be held on February 16 at the Royal Festival Hall of the Southbank Centre, and as always, our beloved host David Tennant will preside over the event.
Emilia Pérez currently holds the top spot in the list of nominees with recognition across 15 different categories, as we eagerly await the announcement of final nominations on January 15. Meanwhile, David Jonsson and Marisa Abela are contenders for the EE Rising Star Award.
The 2025 BAFTA Film Awards in the EE category will take place on February 16th at the Royal Festival Hall. The event will air on BBC One and can also be streamed on iPlayer.
