Star Wars Jedi 3 is Under Development at Respawn, EA Confirms

As a seasoned gamer with a heart full of Star Wars nostalgia, I can hardly contain my excitement! The news that Respawn Entertainment is working on the final chapter of Cal Kestis’ saga has me eagerly anticipating another thrilling adventure. With over 40 million fans already connected to this compelling character, it’s clear that we’re all on board for more of this captivating journey.

As a gamer, I’m thrilled to share that EA has officially announced the active development of the final chapter in the Star Wars Jedi trilogy, which is being crafted by Respawn Entertainment. This upcoming game will see Cal Kestis’ saga reach its conclusion, following the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

Laura Miele, President of EA Entertainment and Technology, stated during an Investor Day presentation that we’ve delivered some of the finest and top-selling Star Wars games ever made, generating over $5 billion in total sales. She highlighted our remarkable legacy, mentioning the Star Wars ‘Jedi’ series, where more than 40 million Star Wars enthusiasts have interacted with Cal Kestis and his journey towards becoming a strong Jedi. Respawn is diligently working to conclude this exciting narrative for players in its final chapter.

Following the release of Fallen Order and Survivor four years apart, we might be anticipating a 2027 launch for the next installment. Notably, the guiding force behind Respawn, Game Director Stig Asmussen, has moved on to establish his own studio, Giant Skull, last year. At present, Asmussen and his team are secretly working on an as-yet unnamed AAA project.

The game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor became available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this week, with its initial release happening for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers back in April of 2023.
