Star Wars: Hunters, the game, will not be released for PC and will no longer be available to play on any platform beyond October, since Zynga has decided to discontinue it.
Star Wars: Hunters initially performed well upon release, however, it’s with regret that I share it has been added to a growing list of games being closed down. The developers at Zynga have announced that April will mark the final content update for the game. Regrettably, it will be permanently shut down come October.
Star Wars: Hunters shuts downs permanently in October 2025
In mid-2024, this game entered the popular hero shooter category, following the trend set by numerous other companies. It became available for download on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch in June of that year. The content offered was abundant, and its future plans looked promising.
It seems that the game didn’t manage to attract a large enough player base, even after being announced for PC release. Consequently, it won’t be launched on Steam or any other platform, as it is no longer planning to enter Early Access following its closure announcement.
After giving the game a try, I found it an enjoyable way to spend some leisure time. The ranked mode was engaging and challenging, offering a competitive experience. Plus, there were numerous rewards, making it quite rewarding. For Star Wars enthusiasts, it served as an excellent platform to familiarize themselves with new characters.
Regrettably, just a few months short of its one-year anniversary, Star Wars: Hunters has been scheduled for closure. The developers have announced this via X, specifying that April 15, 2025 will mark their final content update. As a farewell gesture, they plan to make the upcoming character, Tuya, free for all players.
After that point, there will be no further developments on Star Wars: Hunters. On October 1, 2025, the game will officially be closed permanently. It’s unfortunate, but it’s become quite typical in the gaming industry these days.
