Star Wars fans still want more on Disney+, data suggests
As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who has witnessed the galaxy far, far away since its humble beginnings, I can confidently assert that the Force is still strong with this saga. Despite the occasional missteps and the cacophony of voices on the internet proclaiming their departure from the fandom, I’ve seen the unwavering passion in the eyes of fellow fans when a new Star Wars show premieres.
Contrary to the chatter I’ve seen floating around, Star Wars is far from breathing its last breath. In fact, people haven’t lost interest in tuning into the fresh Disney+ Star Wars series nearly as much as one might assume. The numbers back this up. As a dedicated gamer and sci-fi enthusiast, I can’t wait to dive back into the galaxy far, far away!
Based on Parrot Analytics findings, the interest in Star Wars TV series on Disney+ has generally stayed consistent throughout. In comparison, Marvel has significantly reduced its production volume during recent years – suggesting that the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could potentially be experiencing audience burnout.
In contrast to general expectations, it appears that when it comes to Disney+, Star Wars and Marvel shows seem to hold significant appeal. While these shows represent only a minor fraction of the content available on the platform, data from Q2 2024 indicates a substantial interest in them compared to other viewable content.
In essence, this suggests that from our perspective, Star Wars hasn’t lost its appeal at all. Despite some assertions that fans have had enough, they continue to return for more Star Wars content. It’s intriguing to ponder how accurate the online criticism of Star Wars really is, considering whether people are actually attending Star Wars events or not.
Occasionally, we find ourselves questioning the direction of Star Wars when it falls short of our hopes. However, its flaws don’t discourage us from continuing our journey with it. Every fresh Star Wars production offers a unique addition to the saga, and curiosity keeps us engaged in discovering what each new installment brings.
Quite frequently, our affection for Star Wars compels us to wish it excels as much as possible. Even if a single series fails to resonate with us, there’s always the chance that the following one might become our favorite yet.
