Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles remastered coming next year

Having grown up with the original version on my Sega Dreamcast, the prospect of revisiting this classic side-scroller and experiencing it in all its updated glory is beyond exciting.

Call a friend and embark on an exciting journey, as the remastered version of the classic game Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles is set to launch on January 23, 2025. To mark the game’s 25th anniversary, Lucasfilm Games and Aspyr have joined forces for this release, which will be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and S, and PC via Steam.

On StarWars.com, they unveiled an official announcement brimming with thrilling details. In addition to the characters from the initial game, players will discover 13 new allies and adversaries. These additions include Padme Amidala, Darth Maul, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Captain Panaka, among others. Aspyr Media, the team responsible for this project, is working on modernizing the original Sega Dreamcast code for contemporary gaming consoles. Rest assured, though! The cheat codes remain accessible!

Not only does the game offer fresh stages to conquer, but it also provides practice areas where you can sharpen your abilities – incredibly useful in those tough boss fights! The VS Mode enables friendly competition between multiple characters for amusement. Additionally, there’s teamwork involved beyond this, as a brand-new local multiplayer mode allows you and a buddy to collaborate on the challenges together.

According to IGN’s report, Aspyr has officially announced that we can rejoice in the 25th anniversary of the original Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles by playing this high-speed lightsaber combat game. The updated version boasts improved character models, environments, game modes, and more, allowing you to harness the Force and your reliable lightsaber to battle against multitudes of droids, assassins, and other formidable enemies across iconic settings from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace such as Theed Palace and others.
