As a devoted fan, I find myself reflecting on the current developments at NetEase, where they seem to be reducing their presence across multiple studios, which unfortunately affects some US employees working on Marvel Rivals and other projects like Toshihiro Nagoshi’s new studio. However, it’s encouraging to note that the team behind Star Wars Eclipse at Quantic Dream appears to be holding steady amidst these changes.
According to Quantic Dream’s CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumière, on LinkedIn, let me alleviate any concerns: our studios based in Paris and Montreal are thriving as usual. We are pushing forward with our projects at full speed, and there are numerous job openings available in both cities for those who wish to join us.
The team known as Rebel Wolves, which includes ex-developers from “The Witcher 3,” seems to have dodged the reorganization efforts by NetEase, focusing on their upcoming project titled “Blood of Dawnwalker“. It’s unclear what will happen with other studios under NetEase, as they are considering selling off several of them at this time. The future remains uncertain for these studios.
Meanwhile, it appears that Star Wars Eclipse is aiming for a scheduled launch in 2026, as per recent updates, and offers a fresh take on the Star Wars universe during the time of the High Republic era.
