Star Wars confirms Ahsoka’s new galaxy could be the future of the franchise
As a Star Wars enthusiast who’s spent countless hours traversing the galaxy far, far away and delving into its rich lore, this latest development has me positively giddy with excitement! The revelation of Peridea, a planet in a whole new galaxy, is like unearthing an ancient artifact that promises untold adventures.
A new book suggests that the Star Wars universe could expand to a distant galaxy, as it apparently includes details about Peridea, a planet found in a different galaxy.
One significant aspect that stands out in Ahsoka Season 1 is the unveiling of a previously unknown galaxy, separate from where all Star Wars narratives take place. This revelation not only expands the horizons but also invites us into unexplored realms, introduces fresh characters, and presents novel conflicts.
According to ScreenRant, the creature called a Howler is recognized within the Star Wars universe in a new book titled “Star Wars Bestiary, Vol. 1: Creatures of the Galaxy” by S. T. Bende. In this book, a scientist named Ardis San Tekka discusses Howlers, native to Peridea – a world where Howlers were previously spotted in “Ahsoka” Season 1. Since Tekka is familiar with Howlers and their home planet, which lies beyond the known galaxy, it’s likely that other inhabitants of the Star Wars universe will soon become aware of the existence of Peridea.
The question arises: How does San Tekka possess all this information? Could she have visited Peridea herself, or is it possible that this knowledge was passed down through generations? In the Star Wars Bestiary, which takes place post-The Rise of Skywalker, details about Peridea and the expanded galaxy have been verified by someone who has actually been there. This could be Ezra Bridger, who recently returned from Peridea in the Ahsoka series finale, or Thrawn, who might share information about Peridea with his associates. Both Thrawn and Ezra serve as evidence that Peridea exists. However, if Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren manage to survive their predicament and return, they too could offer crucial insights about Peridea and the new galaxy.
Primarily, this situation brings up queries about the response from folks in the Star Wars universe towards Peridea. Could it have sparked a desire to investigate diverse planets? The book doesn’t seem to provide insights on how much of the new galaxy might have been previously explored, among other things. Nevertheless, fans have speculated that future Star Wars narratives could be set there.
As a die-hard Star Wars gamer, I’m always dreaming about the infinite opportunities for fresh adventures outside the usual timeline tangles. Imagine if my favorite characters could journey to a place like Peridea or another inhabitable world and call it home permanently. That way, they’d be detached from the ongoing saga in the Star Wars galaxy, which might just explain why some Mandoverse heroes didn’t show up in the sequel trilogy. In this new galaxy, the power struggle between the Republic and the Empire would be a distant memory, and the Force – with all its complexities – wouldn’t even be a topic of discussion anymore. What a thrilling thought!
In other words, it’s entirely plausible that the way the Force functions and appears might be drastically different for Peridea and the broader new galaxy compared to the Star Wars universe. If this is indeed the case, such a difference could breathe fresh excitement into the franchise.
Ahsoka is streaming on Disney+, and Season 2 will go into production next year.
