Star Wars Around the Holidays: A look at the best decorations
As a lifelong Star Wars enthusiast who has been through countless viewings of the saga and multiple trips to the galaxy far, far away (or at least, the local comic book store), I can confidently say that the holiday season just got a whole lot more exciting with these fantastic Star Wars Christmas decorations.
As we approach Thanksgiving in the United States, many of us find ourselves eagerly starting to think about Christmas decorations. Notably, even the Star Wars series has become associated with festive decorations during the holiday season.
Let’s discuss some of the best Star Wars Christmas decorations.
In simpler terms, one creative option for adorning your home inspired by the Star Wars series is a depiction of Darth Vader seated at a piano near a fireplace, with festive stockings hanging in the background. This concept has been translated into various forms, such as artwork and puzzles.
Imagining every Star Wars figure that comes to mind, there’s also a corresponding Christmas ornament for each one. From BB-8 and Rey to “Baby Yoda,” you can find them all adorning your Christmas tree. Hallmark even offers an Ahsoka ornament, showcasing the beloved character brandishing her twin white lightsabers.
In our house, my daughter adores LEGO sets, especially those themed for holidays. These intricate creations are perfect for decorating and can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. One such creation we have is the Millennium Falcon Holiday Diorama, a delightful addition to our home. Parents should note that this set consists of over 250 pieces, ensuring hours of engaging playtime! The diorama features Chewbacca, Finn, and Rey preparing for a Life Day meal. Accompanying the scene is a festive turkey, a lightsaber for carving, and numerous holiday decorations. This set is inspired by the “LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special,” which debuted on Disney+ in 2020.
Beyond Star Wars-themed decorations, numerous Advent Calendar options are available for families who are avid fans of the franchise. In addition to LEGO Advent calendars, there are distinct ones tailored for the Disney+ shows such as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Specifically, the Advent calendar for The Mandalorian contains 24 coins, each featuring characters and symbols from both series.
We can’t forget about holiday T-shirts and sweaters, which would be perfect for holiday parties or when opening presents with the family. I like anything involving the AT-AT Walkers from The Empire Strikes Back and the many jokes you can make about snow.
A specific t-shirt I could request from my spouse features Darth Vader pulling Santa’s sleigh, with AT-AT Walkers standing in for reindeer instead. The front AT-AT Walker sports a red nose, reminiscent of Rudolph. This could be an ideal festive shirt for the upcoming holiday season.
During the approaching holiday rush, Star Wars enthusiasts have plenty of choices to adorn their homes and express their love for the series. In a matter of a few weeks, expect to find a Baby Yoda and Ahsoka decor set gracing my living space.
