Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' "Subspace Rhapsody" could be coming to the stage

As a seasoned Trekkie with decades of Starfleet service under my belt, I must say that the idea of a Star Trek musical on Broadway is not only intriguing but also entirely plausible. Remember when we thought a Star Trek musical was as likely as a Klingon barbershop quartet? Yet here we are, with “Subspace Rhapsody” making waves in the Star Trek universe.

As a devoted Star Trek: Strange New Worlds fan, I was thrilled to witness season two’s groundbreaking musical episode. Although some fellow enthusiasts had mixed feelings about the singing aspect, many, including myself, were left in awe and eagerly anticipating another musical installment. The episode was warmly received, thanks in large part to the powerful vocals of our talented cast members such as Celia Rose Gooding, Christina Chong, and Rebecca Romijn.

For anyone doubting the possibility, here are several points suggesting it might indeed occur. Remember when everyone thought a musical episode on Star Trek was unimaginable? Now, look at us!

Let’s explore where the Star Trek universe has ventured since the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery in 2017. We’ve seen an animated series similar to Rick and Morty, Star Trek: Lower Decks, the first time Trek delved into a perspective other than a captain’s, and a streaming film focusing on the covert agency, Section 31, which was once a taboo topic. Given these expansions, could a Star Trek Broadway musical be within reach?

It seems plausible that the musical could make its debut on Broadway, and I’m curious about who will land the roles for each character in the crew.
