Actors from the Star Trek universe are now responding to the popular “Hot Spock” meme, with Ethan Peck himself giving it a thumbs-up.
What Makes Star Trek: Strange New Worlds‘ Spock So Special
Peck chuckled, saying he’s amused to hear people notice his attempts to appear attractive. He added that it’s both funny and flattering to him.
He explained that Spock isn’t concerned with appearances. He pointed to Spock’s haircut as an example, which drew a reaction from his co-stars. One of them quickly defended the character’s famous hairstyle, and the speaker admitted he shouldn’t have criticized it.
Peck continued, saying he admires the person’s intelligence, emotional depth, passion, and sensitivity. He feels it’s great if those qualities appeal to anyone – regardless of gender – and celebrates the fact that they are considered attractive.
Where Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Is Headed Next
The latest season of the show is already a hit with fans, taking the adventures of the USS Enterprise crew to exciting new levels. It currently has a high rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, though that score has slightly decreased to 80% since the season just began with its first episode.
Mount explained they had discussed the idea extensively. He noted a strong British tradition of creating special Christmas episodes, something that isn’t as common in the US. While some shows occasionally feature Christmas themes, there were many different concepts considered for this project.
Both actors described how the crew of the USS Enterprise might encounter Santa Claus. Peck suggested a darkly comedic scenario where the crew accidentally kills Santa and has to take over his duties. Mount, on the other hand, envisioned the Enterprise discovering a sleigh and reindeer in space, beaming them aboard, and finding Bruce Campbell dressed as Santa Claus.
