‘Star Trek’ is headed to the Rose Parade. Here’s an exclusive first look at the float

On New Year’s Day, the starship Enterprise will be featured in a parade route that covers a 5½-mile stretch of Pasadena.

The famous “Star Trek” spaceship will be a major part of the franchise’s 2026 Rose Parade float, honoring the 60th anniversary of the well-known sci-fi series. The design for the Star Trek 60 “Space for Everybody” float was unveiled on Monday.

As a huge Star Trek fan, I’m so excited about the parade float! It’s not just going to have a replica of the USS Enterprise and its bridge – where, by the way, they haven’t announced who will be playing the crew yet – but also a tribute to Vasquez Rocks, that iconic filming location. They’re even building a futuristic version of San Francisco, which is where Starfleet Command is located in the series. And of course, they’re including planets and transporters – it sounds absolutely amazing!

Television

Even after 55 years, the constantly growing ‘Star Trek’ universe continues to explore new and groundbreaking territory in television, brimming with both ideas and emotions.

As we shared before, the parade float’s design embodies the core ideals of “Star Trek”: hope, acceptance of all, a spirit of discovery, and togetherness. Artist John Ramirez created the design, and the team at Artistic Entertainment Services will be responsible for building it.

The event will also feature a preview of the new Paramount+ series “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy,” featuring Holly Hunter as a starship captain and chancellor guiding the academy’s newest class of cadets-the first in over a century. The series is scheduled to debut next year.

The 2026 Rose Parade will center around the theme “The Magic in Teamwork.” This theme aims to highlight “the feeling of success that comes from realizing we can accomplish far more together than we ever could alone,” as stated on the Tournament of Roses website. It’s a celebration of collective achievement and the power of working together.

As a huge Star Trek fan, I’m so excited! They’re kicking off the 60th anniversary celebrations with a float in the Rose Parade, and it’s not just that – we’re getting new shows, Lego sets, and even a cruise! It’s going to be a fantastic year for Trekkies.
