Season 2 of Citadel is now streaming on Prime Video, bringing back Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden as the skilled spies with a brand new assignment. The show’s creators, Anthony and Joe Russo, have also cautioned viewers that the season contains spoilers for those who haven’t finished the first season.
The second season of Citadel just dropped, and it follows Orlick (Stanley Tucci) as he rebuilds his team after the huge losses they suffered in season one. Last season, the rival organization Manticore, headed by Dahlia Archer (Lesley Manville), wiped out most of Citadel’s agents. It was also revealed that Dahlia is actually Mason’s (Madden) mother.
Nadia (Chopra) has good reason not to trust Mason, but their boss, Orlick, believes they must work together again to face a new danger. Intelligence suggests a company has developed technology that can control people’s minds, effectively turning them into assassins.

After Citadel became available on Prime Video, the Russo Brothers—the show’s executive producers—used Instagram to ask fans to avoid spoilers. They advised viewers who aren’t watching all at once to stay off social media, and reminded those who have finished the series to be considerate and avoid revealing plot details to others.
Good news for fans of Citadel: the entire second season is being released tonight at midnight Pacific Time!

If you hate finding out surprises ahead of time, watch all the episodes at once. Otherwise, avoid social media for a few days – someone is bound to reveal details!
“And if you watch tonight, please don’t spoil it for someone else.”
“Thanks. Let’s all have each other’s backs. Enjoy!”

Okay, so I’m really hyped for Citadel season 2, but I checked Rotten Tomatoes and it doesn’t have a score yet. Season 1, though, got a pretty mixed reception – around 51% based on 81 reviews. Hopefully, season 2 will be a big improvement!
Region Free praised the series as a visually impressive show comparable to a big-screen blockbuster, but Film Companion was less impressed, describing it as visually unclear, overly costly, and lacking substance.
According to The Playlist, action movie fans will accept unrealistic scenarios if the movie delivers a satisfying conclusion, but Citadel fails to provide that payoff.
Citadel season 2 is streaming now on Prime Video. Season 1 is available on the same platform.
The latest issue of Living Legends is now available! This special 100-page, full-colour magazine celebrates the incredible Sir David Attenborough. You can find it at newsstands or order it online.
