Star-studded “gripping” crime drama about ‘a cop from the wrong side of the tracks’ gets UK streamer

The crime drama The Murder Line (also known as The Borderline in the US and Canada) is coming to ITV in the UK in April. The series, featuring a strong cast, will be shown on ITV1 and streamed on ITVX.

Stephen Amell, known for his roles in shows like Arrow and the Suits spinoff Suits: LA, will lead the cast of The Murder Line. He plays officer Henry Roland, who discovers evidence connecting an old friend to a crime. The series also stars Hamza Haq, of the acclaimed medical drama Transplant, and Minnie Driver, recently seen in Emily in Paris and the Netflix thriller Run Away.

Haq portrays Tommy Hawley, a friend from Officer Roland’s past who is connected to a troubling secret. Driver plays the head of a powerful and dangerous British crime family.

According to Justin Stockman, VP of Content Development and Programming at Bell Media, the series boasts a compelling story and well-developed characters thanks to the creative work of Graeme Stewart, Aaron Martin, and Robert Budreau. He believes it will appeal to a wide range of viewers.

The show features Tamara Podemski, who has won awards for her work on Coroner, alongside Kate Corbett (Fargo), Thomas Craig (Murdoch Mysteries), and Christopher Heyerdahl (Supernatural).

The new drama, The Murder Line, will premiere on ITV1 and ITVX in the UK this April, though the specific date hasn’t been announced yet.
