Stage 4 Cancer Shocker: Bachelor Star’s Treatment Takes Wild Turn!

Katie Thurston’s breast cancer fight has taken a surprising twist.

34-year-old Bachelor franchise celebrity, who disclosed her illness in February, shared on Instagram yesterday that her treatment regimen now excludes chemotherapy.

Picture this scenario: You’re just 24 hours before embarking on your first chemotherapy journey. A catheter, or port, has been fitted in you, and the chemo bag is all set. Suddenly, there’s a pause from your doctor over a video call, as she says, “Just a moment,” with a hint of concern in her voice.

As an ardent admirer, I, Thurston, found myself walking down the aisle with Jeff Arcuri in March. My journey began when I received the devastating news – I was diagnosed with triple-positive stage 3 breast cancer. However, I didn’t let that be my final word; I sought a second opinion to ensure I was well-informed and ready to fight this battle head-on.

In the newly-established medical facility, she received a diagnosis of advanced (stage 4) breast cancer. The doctors mentioned there was a possibility that her condition wasn’t triple-positive.

Thurston shared fresh details with her 779,000 followers, confirming in her post that she is ‘now tested negative.’

As it turns out, this implies that I won’t be undergoing chemotherapy. Instead, I’ll be initiating a regimen consisting of Letrozole, Kisqali, and Zoladex as my primary course of treatment.

She mentioned that this is a tailored approach designed for individuals diagnosed with a type of breast cancer known as HER2-negative, Luminal B, and hormone-receptor positive.

she outlined the purposes of each medication: Letrozole works by inhibiting estrogen, Kisqali prevents cancer cell growth, while Zoladex is meant to halt ovarian function.

The newlywed celebrity noted, “There’s a possibility I might require chemotherapy in the future. However, if the current treatment proves ineffective or if the cancer recurs, that could be something we reconsider down the line.

‘We will closely monitor the treatment plan and make sure it’s working for my body.’

Additionally, Katie posted further clips on Instagram Stories, revealing the spot where she inserted a port in her chest, in preparation for undergoing chemotherapy.

She indicated towards two spots while explaining that after her treatment change, they would take out the port from her body on Tuesday.

The former reality TV personality who now does comedy shared with her followers a peek into her medication regimen, expressing it as ‘Starting the next chapter.’

Previously, Katie had a conversation about reconsidering her stance on motherhood following her union with Jeff. Recently, she has been chronicling her journey with fertility injections.

One day, you may feel that you don’t desire children, she posted. Later on, she encounters her soulmate, and there isn’t anything she wouldn’t do to help us establish a family in the future.

In her ‘Boobie Broadcast’ channel, Thurston explained a few weeks back about a standard fertility treatment routine, which includes taking three pills each day to maintain low estrogen levels. Additionally, she has an injection in her abdomen every morning, followed by two injections in her abdomen each evening.

Later, she mentioned, “I’ve just entered my second week in preparation for the egg retrieval, and my feelings have been quite erratic. My sleep patterns and dreams have been unusual too, and I’m feeling extremely fatigued.

Despite the challenging experience, she expressed her thanks by saying, ‘I get another chance to go through it all over again for the next two weeks.’

Nevertheless, she acknowledged that a part of her was eager to give her body time to rest or prepare for the potential cancer treatments she had scheduled in April.
