Stacey Solomon shared that she recently connected with David Beckham, asking him for advice on something. She revealed the surprising connection on Tuesday evening.
Stacey Solomon is back on the BBC with a new docuseries called Stacey & Joe. The show offers a glimpse into her busy family life at her Essex home, Pickle Cottage, where she lives with her husband Joe Swash and their four children.
After deciding to keep bees and make her own honey – inspired by Beckham – she started asking him for advice.
Solomon, 35, wasn’t sure about it at first, but his sister Gemma convinced him to send a voice message to the former Manchester United and England player, hoping for an invitation to a garden party at his home in the Cotswolds.
She decided to message him on Instagram, explaining, ‘I’m planning to get a beehive, and I know you and Victoria are really into beekeeping. I was hoping you might have some advice for me.’
She seemed embarrassed even as she typed, adding, ‘I already wish I hadn’t sent this-I doubt you’ll even see it, and if you do, I’m afraid you’ll think I’m strange.’

Clearly mortified, she confessed to her sister that she’d probably ruined her chances of doing anything fun because she’d just sent a really awkward message to David Beckham.
The retired footballer, age 50, didn’t respond to the message, which Solomon’s husband was actually glad about.
He jokingly responded that he hadn’t contacted the person, and didn’t plan to. He added, ‘Stay away! I don’t need David Beckham as competition – that’s the last thing I need!’
‘I’ve got dogs, ducks, the last thing I need is David Beckham.’
David Beckham often posts about his beekeeping hobby on social media, ever since he set up beehives on his property in the Cotswolds, which is worth around £12 million.
Adding to his already substantial fortune, estimated at £372 million ($450 million), he’s introduced BEEUP, a honey-based snack designed for kids, now available at Target stores nationwide.
David Beckham started thinking about his own honey brand a while ago, after discovering beekeeping during lockdown. His wife, Victoria, affectionately refers to his honey as ‘David’s Sticky Stuff’.
He announced the launch of @beeupsnacks on social media in June, sharing that it was a long-time passion project he’d been developing privately. He expressed his excitement about finally making it available.

I started beekeeping in 2020, and I’ve become fascinated by it. I’ve also discovered a lot about the amazing health benefits of honey.
As a dad and someone who used to be a serious athlete, I was really driven to come up with something fun to help kids be active. That’s why I created BEEUP – they’re seriously tasty snacks made with real honey, and I hope they’ll inspire a healthier, more playful lifestyle for all kids!
‘Available now in the US at @target I can’t wait for you to try it’.
I’ve been following David Beckham for years, and it was surprising to hear about the trouble he got into in 2024! Apparently, some neighbours complained that he’d put beehives right on the edge of his property. It sounds like he was trying to discourage people from peeking onto his land – a pretty clever, if slightly cheeky, way to deal with unwanted attention, if you ask me!
Residents were upset and worried about being stung by bees after the ex-England captain put up two beehives right next to a popular walking path.
Neighbours said the positioning of the structures defies public safety advice.
You know, it’s amusing to me – a lot of newcomers seem to believe we locals spend all our time worrying about their business. It’s just not true! We have our own lives, of course, but we’re not constantly focused on what anyone else is doing.

‘We really don’t. We couldn’t care less. It smacks of massive self-importance.
The Beckhams represent the wave of people who’ve moved here from London and now dominate the local scene.
The beehives showed up recently, over 330 yards from the house. They’re located very close to a public walking path on the western side of the property.
Allergy UK notes that while Britain is home to many types of bees, only the honeybee typically stings people. And when stings do happen, they usually affect beekeepers, their families, or those living nearby.
