Stacey Solomon loses out on TRIC Award as TV presenter comes up short to winner Ladbaby after being ‘robbed’ at the BAFTAS

At the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) awards held on Tuesday night, Stacey Solomon was once more denied a career honor as she did not win the award for Best Social Media Broadcaster.

The television host was put forward for an award together with Eddie Hall, Rob Beckett, and LadBaby. In the end, it was LadBaby who was chosen to receive the accolade.

Just a few months following the event, Stacey, age 35, felt disheartened as her series, Sort Your Life Out, didn’t win the award for Best Factual Entertainment at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards.

During the moment when the star expressed her disappointment towards the BAFTA judges in a passionate online outburst, labeling her team as being unfairly denied the recognition, this action sparked criticism from fans who labeled her as ungracious in defeat.

Once more, Stacey didn’t win an award as the results of this year’s TRIC elections, which were determined by over a million public votes in the UK, were announced among a group of candidates who had been previously selected for nomination.

Stepping up on stage to receive the award, it was Alex (also known as LadBaby), who was accompanied by his wife Roxanne as he started off with a heartfelt thank you: “Many thanks indeed.

10 years ago, we found ourselves in a tough spot financially, juggling a new mortgage, a recent childbirth, and barely enough money for essentials – around £20 per week. But then we ventured into social media, which eventually turned our lives around.

In a surprising turn of events, Clarkson’s Farm, having recently released its fourth season, won the award for Best Entertainment Show, surpassing contenders like Gavin and Stacey, I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!, and The Traitors.

Although Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women did not receive any nominations, they suffered significant setbacks as neither show was recognized among the notable selections in high-profile categories.

In the “Daytime Competition,” A Place In The Sun emerged victorious by outperforming Escape to the Country, Richard Osman’s House of Games, and This Morning.

In this case, the best drama award was given to “Call The Midwife”, outperforming contenders such as “All Creatures Great And Small”, “Baby Reindeer” and “Bridgerton”.

24 Hours In Police Custody surpassed Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams on Tour, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, and The Repair Shop in terms of viewership within the Factual TV programming category.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that yesterday was an extraordinary day for Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks as their podcast, Staying Relevant, emerged victorious in the competitive landscape against Davina McCall’s Begin Again, Shged. Married. Annoyed, That Peter Crouch Podcast, and a few other notable contenders. The triumph of our duo has left an indelible mark on the podcasting world. I couldn’t be more proud to witness their journey and success!

In the Food category, The Great British Bake Off was the most popular choice, beating out strong competitors like The Great British Menu, James Martin’s Saturday Morning Show, and MasterChef.

In terms of the Game Show award, nominees included Ant & Dec’s Limitless Win, Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel, The Chase, and Lee Mack’s The 1% Club. However, it was Lee Mack’s The 1% Club that took home the prize.

In the award ceremony, Six Nations Rugby was recognized as having the Best Live Sports Broadcast, while GB News Breakfast claimed victory in the News Category.

In a competitive category featuring Dan Walker, Fiona Bruce, and Susanna Reid, Charlie Peters emerged victorious and was awarded the title of Best News Presenter.

In a competition that included Ally McCoist, Simon Mayo, and Vernon Kay, Jordan North emerged as the top-ranked radio presenter.

In this Radio Show category, you’ll find shows like Capital Breakfast hosted by Jordan North, Chris Stark, and Sian Welby, Heart Breakfast featuring Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Rylan on Sunday, as well as White & Jordan.

But it was Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden that won the award.

In a recent awards ceremony, Steve McFadden from EastEnders was honored with the Soap Actor award for his portrayal of Phil Mitchell. Additionally, EastEnders itself was recognized as Soap Of The Year.

Among the competitors, he surpassed Barney Walsh (known for his role as Cam Mickelthwaite on Casualty), Beth Cordingly (famous for her character Ruby Fox-Milligan in Emmerdale), and Jack P Shepherd (well-recognized for playing David Platt in Coronation Street. )

As a die-hard admirer, I couldn’t help but cheer for my favorite TV personality when they snatched the victory from Bradley Walsh, Alison Hammond, Ant & Dec, and Martin Lewis in that prestigious contest. What an unforgettable moment!
