Stacey Solomon is noticeably absent from Loose Women’s 25th anniversary snap after she announced her shock career shakeup
As a die-hard fan of Loose Women, I can’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as I see this stunning group snap celebrating their 25th anniversary. The show has been an integral part of my life for more than two decades now, providing me with laughter, tears, and countless moments of enlightenment. However, the noticeable absence of Stacey Solomon from the picture leaves a void that can’t be filled easily.
On Saturday, the Loose Women commemorated their 25th anniversary by taking a beautiful group photo, which included all of the present hosts in recognition of this significant occasion.
Yet, it’s worth mentioning that Stacey Solomon was missing from the recent snap, raising speculation about her potential future on the ITV show, given her unexpected career shift announcement earlier in the summer.
Originally known as a vocalist, she’s now found success as a TV host, having garnered attention initially. Lately, she bagged her initial National Television Award for the show “Sort Your Life Out.
Although Stacey has made over 350 appearances on Loose Women, her last appearance on the panel was in June of this year, with her previous appearance taking place in December 2023.
In addition to serving as a brand ambassador for In The Style last year, Stacey has recently decided to take a step away from that major role to devote more time to her loved ones.
Speaking about her family which includes Zachary (16), Leighton (12) from past relationships, as well as Rex (5), Rose (2), and 19-month-old Belle with Joe Swash, Stacey commented: ‘This year, I’ve spent a lot of time pondering the balance between work and family, and what matters most.’
2023 saw Stacey make another appearance on the show in November, marking a period of over 18 months since she last appeared regularly. This was approximately seven months after she welcomed her youngest child into the world.
But by this time, she had already been featured as a judge on Bake Off: The Professionals , taking over from comedian Tom Allen.
Linda Robson, who was Stacey’s sole co-star at her Pickle Cottage wedding in 2022, shared with The Sun that Stacey, a mother of five, is ‘overwhelmed’ with multiple other commitments, making it difficult for her to resume a full-time job.
She expressed a desire for her return, mentioning that she was an exceptional woman, particularly known for her honesty. However, she believes she has too many commitments at the moment.
‘She’s got her own series and her and Joe are out in their little house. She’s still really welcome but she’s just so busy.’
From the beginning of the year 2021, Stacey’s appearances on the show decreased gradually, appearing less frequently than before, often only once or twice a week.
Back in September 6th, 1999, Loose Women made its debut, and recently, ITV shared a picture featuring all the current cast members.
In a nostalgic flashback to the good old days, here I am, reminiscing about my favorite soap opera, EastEnders. As an ardent fan, I can’t help but feel a sense of connection with some of its original cast members. Nadia Sawalha and Jane Moore, who graced our screens in the very first episode, are still as captivating as ever. And let’s not forget Ruth Langsford, who made her debut in episode two and has been a staple on the show ever since. These ladies have been part of my TV family for so long, it feels like they’re old friends I’ve grown up with!
At the event, Linda, who joined Birds of a Feather permanently in 2012, was elegantly dressed, just like longtime TV presenter Janet Street-Porter, who not long ago celebrated her 1000th episode as a panel member.
Colleen Nolan raised her head in joy when she decided to part ways with her famous fringe, a change she made nearly 24 years after initially appearing on the talk show.
In the latest episode, daytime talk show hosts Charlene White (who replaced Andrea McLean as anchor in 2020) and musical theatre actress Brenda Edwards are all smiles alongside original panelist Kaye Adams and former Coronation Street actress Denise Welch.
Additionally, activist Katie Piper, ex-actress from Casualty Sunetra Sarker, and reality TV personality Olivia Attwood all dazzled in the photoshoot as well.
Comedian Judi Love, previously selected for the program after being noticed by producers through her posts on Instagram, harmoniously adhered to the clean silver motif, aligning with Saturday’s singer Frankie Bridge, TV hosts Christine Lampard, and Olympic champion Dame Kelly Holmes.
Notable personalities who have graced our screens in the past include Jane McDonald, a former cruise ship vocalist who recently touched hearts by her emotional reappearance, and Katie Price, who was a frequent guest from 2015 to 2018.
Among various controversial topics, notable guests who graced the show throughout its history include Britney Spears, Whoopi Goldberg, Ariana Grande, and Taylor Swift.
Loose Women editor Sally Shelford said: ‘Over the last 25 years, Loose Women has tackled taboos and talked about issues not openly discussed on television, including domestic abuse, menopause, miscarriage and grief.
Our audience, both in-studio and at home, have consistently felt like an integral part of our team. We vow to continue engaging, discussing, and shedding light on significant topics such as these for our wonderful viewers.
