Stacey Dooley Takes Her Baby to a Nevada Brothel and Jokes: ‘She’ll Be Open-Minded!’

While delving deep into the complexities of America’s prostitution landscape for a groundbreaking documentary, I found myself in Nevada, accompanied by my precious newborn daughter.

As a fervent admirer, I couldn’t help but dive headfirst into the latest installment of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over USA. This time, our 38-year-old host ventured to the oldest legal brothel in Nevada, the iconic Mustang Ranch, to delve deep into the lives of sex workers across the United States, offering a rare and compelling glimpse into their world.

However, it’s been disclosed that her daughter, Minnie, accompanied her during the visit at the tender age of eight months, which she humorously compared to a comedic skit.

At the Hay Literary Festival in Wales, Stacey reminisced about her experiences while on a panel with journalist Emma Barnett. During this discussion, they delved into how she managed to reconcile her roles as a mother and a professional.

The broadcaster shared that she often takes her daughter, whom she has with boyfriend Kevin Clifton, along on set, even to some unconventional filming spots.

As reported by The Telegraph, she openly stated that the child had visited no place unseen. At the age of eight months, they had a scheduled event slated for a trip to the United States to create a documentary about a legal brothel located in Nevada.

Initially, I had agreed to the contract and thought, “Well, she’s only going to be eight months old, that should work out.” However, when the trip arrived, I found myself far from comfortable leaving her, so I ended up taking my eight-month-old child to a brothel in Nevada.

I need to get approval from the sheriff since she’s still a minor. Although it might sound like a joke, it’s actually necessary!

Stacey clarified that she needed to hire a trailer so Minnie could reside there with dad, Kevin. While Stacey filmed, Minnie would keep an eye out of the window.

She amusingly reminisced about the time when she came back to the trailer for feedings, the women from the brothel would warmly welcome her child with: “Good morning, Miss Minnie!

The presenter quipped: ‘I’m like: she’ll be open minded if nothing else!’ 

In March, Stacey published the book titled “Dear Minnie,” where she penned a touching letter addressed to her current two-year-old.

In her letter, she described the instance when she discovered she was pregnant in the year 2022, following a pregnancy test taken in the restroom at Selfridges.

In January 2023, she gave birth to her first child, Minnie, with professional dancer Kevin, who is 42 years old. They developed feelings for each other when they partnered together on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2018.

Last month, Stacey openly acknowledged that due to their daughter sharing their bedroom, her intimate relationship with Kevin has somewhat diminished over the past few weeks.

However, she maintained that she was content with the setup and playfully teased about the scarcity of private moments with Kevin by saying humorously: “Perhaps we should brush up on our memory skills for intimate times.

At this moment, Kevin is traveling across the country, performing as Billy Flynn in the musical “Chicago.” The tour will continue through August.

However, Stacey intends to keep her nightly ritual unaltered upon his arrival, since she cherishes sharing the night with Minnie.

She said: ‘Minnie is sleeping with us tonight. To be honest, I’m not overly concerned. While I understand the importance of having children in their own beds, given that Kevin is often traveling, it seems less of an issue for now.’

Could I be engaged in something else right now? Perhaps once Kevin reappears, we might recall our intimate moments together.

Perhaps I might say, “Minnie, it looks like you need some alone time in your room now.

Currently, Stacey is savoring each moment with her daughter and isn’t bothered by the early bedtime of 8 pm, as she prefers to maintain Minnie’s regular schedule without interruption.

In the evening, we usually have dinner together, followed by giving her a bath afterward, as shared on the Parenting Hell podcast with comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe.

‘We have a bit of a chat, put her PJ’s on and we just end up getting in my bed together. 

After watching just one episode of Paddington, we head off to bed early, around 8 pm. To be honest, I truly enjoy this routine!

Last year, Minnie gradually grew accustomed to spending nights at one of her grandmothers’ homes, as they took care of her during the time when Stacey was performing in the play “2:22 A Ghost Story” on the West End stage.

Stacey mentioned that she’s grown accustomed to being put to bed, sharing a large bed, and sleeping alongside someone, be it her mother or Kev’s mother. They both retired for the night at 8 o’clock.
