Stacey Dooley issues apology as she makes parenting admission
Stacey Dooley has expressed her regret and offered an apology to all the newly-minted moms, acknowledging that she had underestimated the difficulty of motherhood in previous times.
In the year 2023, as I embraced my bundle of joy, little Minnie, I took a moment to look back at my past thoughts about motherhood. I’ll be honest, I stepped into this role completely unready for what was to come.
As a gamer, I remember thinking to myself, “Gosh, I couldn’t imagine parenting being too challenging,” but then I had my own child and realized just how wrong I was. In a recent interview with The Guardian, I shared that I turned down all those mom-to-be guides from friends and skipped antenatal classes because… well, it turns out it wasn’t as straightforward as I thought!
She admitted, “I genuinely believed that, which is quite amusing now. I owe each one of those women an apology,” she concluded.
In the previous year, it was revealed that the victor of “Strictly Come Dancing” would be involved in a fresh BBC venture. Notably, Stacey Dooley will host a documentary addressing the rising issue of shoplifting in the United Kingdom, titled “Stacey Dooley: Shoplifting“.
On March 13, the documentary titled “The Doc” will be aired on BBC Three and iPlayer. In this program, Dooley interacts with individuals who frequently shoplift, as well as those working at the forefront of efforts to deter such acts of theft in stores.
Announced last November, the documentary is just one of the projects Dooley has in the pipeline.
I couldn’t contain my excitement as I prepared for my upcoming show, having just been honored with the esteemed Grierson Trustee Award. This recognition is bestowed upon those who excel and innovate within the realm of documentary filmmaking – a distinction that fills me with immense pride.
Given the increasing incidents of shoplifting, it seems crucial now more than ever to devote adequate attention to the individuals and intricacies associated with them,” the documentarian stated.
She went on saying, “The appreciation I receive for these tales only strengthens my dedication to carry on narrating them. I am grateful for every bit of backing I get, and especially to those who believed in me right from the beginning, enabling me to keep going strong.
Stacey Dooley’s show, titled “Shoplifting,” is set to premiere on BBC Three on the 13th of March. After its initial airing, you can find it on iPlayer for viewing convenience.
