Man, everyone doubted us, but we did it! We just took down SRG and officially qualified for the Grand Finals of M7! We’re going to be facing Aurora Gaming PH – it’s gonna be a tough match, but we’re ready!
The battle to become the second finalist at the M7 World Championship is set between Selangor Red Giants (SRG) and Alter Ego. Alter Ego is coming off a win against Team Liquid PH and is eager to continue their success, hoping to represent Indonesian pride. Meanwhile, SRG is determined to finally win a world championship, having already proven themselves as four-time regional champions.
SRG vs Alter Ego: M7 Knockout Stage Day 5 Recap
Game 1
The first game was a back-and-forth battle. SRG took early advantages by controlling key objectives, but Alter Ego was winning the individual fights. SRG’s Alekk was a major problem for Alter Ego as he roamed the map, using his hero’s abilities to break up team fights. As the game continued, Alter Ego’s Innocent started to get stronger with his Claude, becoming a powerful force as the game went on.
By 16 minutes into the match, Alter Ego had taken a strong lead, though SRG was still a threat thanks to Innocent’s growing power – he had already secured over six kills. Alter Ego didn’t let up, with Arifudin “Arfy” Dingarai playing aggressively on Freya and initiating key team battles. This constant pressure finally overwhelmed SRG’s defenses, allowing Alter Ego to win the first game.
Game 2
Alter Ego continued their strong performance in Game 2, immediately taking control with a fast-paced and assertive strategy that put SRG on the defensive. They quickly gained a significant advantage, securing 14 kills and a 7,000 gold lead within the first 8 minutes. A complete team victory over SRG soon after extended their lead, making it very difficult for SRG to recover.
Alter Ego continued to control the game and finished it off with a strong team fight around 12 minutes, securing a 2–0 lead in the series.
Game 3
SRG turned things around in Game 3 by preventing Arfy from playing his usual hero, Freya, and instead, Innocent took on that role. This change strengthened SRG’s early game, especially with Mark “KRAMM” Rusiana playing Yu Zhong. By the 9-minute point, SRG was significantly ahead in gold – by 4,000 – and completely dominated the map’s key objectives.
Okay, so at around 14 minutes in, SRG absolutely destroyed the other team in a team fight! It was a total wipe – they didn’t let anyone escape. They instantly used that advantage to push down the middle lane, and honestly, that play won them the game. It was huge, letting them take game three and keep the series going!
Game 4
Game 4 was a careful match-up, as both teams knew it could decide the series. They were focused on avoiding early errors that could give the opponent a big lead. Muhammad “Yazukee” Wahyudi helped Alter Ego get ahead early with a strong performance on Fanny, earning four kills in the first six minutes. However, SRG remained calm and maintained control of the map with smart team movements.
Throughout the game, SRG gradually gained a gold advantage by consistently interrupting Yazukee’s farming and repeatedly taking his important blue buffs. This approach worked well, and by 17 minutes, SRG was ahead by 4,000 gold. Despite this, Alter Ego kept up the pressure in team fights, which allowed them to create opportunities to grab important objectives on the map.
With a strong advantage, Alter Ego powerfully pushed their top lane. This opened up the entire map, leaving SRG completely vulnerable with no defenses remaining. Even though SRG tried to fight back, Alter Ego successfully destroyed their base, shattered the crystal, and won the series 3–1.
